PDD do you ever get clubcard vouchers? They do really good deals on weekend breaks sometimes, might be worth a look?

  • I am beginning to feel spoilt ladies, but back to business, in a bit of a phoney war at the mo, as DMP doesnt start until May, just starting the token payments, MBNA have been ok, only Egg, Citi and BoS to go. I owe BoS the most, but spoke to a money management guy from them in Feb and he advised me to contact Payplan and start a DMP, so will, of course be quoting that in my covering letter with token payment to them, please have a look and see what you think? PP

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Account/Agreement number: ****************

Since making the above mentioned agreement with you my circumstances have changed.

I do want to repay my debts but at the present time I am not in the position to pay the minimum monthly payments. I recently spoke to your in house Money management team (on Feb 5th) and undertook a review of my financial affairs, your representative then advised me to speak to Payplan.

I took your advice and have subsequently joined Payplan who offer a non fee-charging debt management plan, which I aim to start around May 1st. (ID no: ********)

In the interim month or so I shall make a token monthly payment(s) of £** as a sign of good faith. As soon as I have updated my situation and the Debt management plan is fully set up I / Payplan will contact you again.

As other people answer the telephone who are not aware of my situation, ie, my children. I would ask that all correspondence between us should be in writing.

I hope this is acceptable on a temporary basis.

    Yours faithfully

Great letter prof, that limits their witerings right off, you're just doing exactly what they told you to:rotfl:

I don't shop at Mr Ts, actually I don't approve of their business ethics:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:, but we do intend to go off somewhere in the summer, somewhere really cheap and I am putting pennies in a jar to this end. I may win the lottery before that of course, in which case, I will definitely go somewhere in the summer:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: See, I don't know if I have actually learned anything:o

    Don't panic!! Don't panic!! I'm here! :wave::wave:

....you know me, I like to disappear under the duvet all weekend ;) This weekend was spent catching up on my severe addiction to American TV, 30 Rock, Mad Men, Greys Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Glee, 90210...yes, I know, I have a problem :p

Anyway, just had a read through all the posts I've missed and was quite chuffed that Gibbs thinks I'm sensible....! If only I could tell my mother! ;) This thread is my one support on my DMP journey and you're all completely wonderful! :A

Welcome to Cam, agree with everyone else, you're doing the right thing and trust me, once things get moving you'll feel 100 times better! x

HSBC still calling me, I think I'll muster up the courage to speak to them this week

Teds - I've had exactly same issue with Cap1, got a letter on Fri saying they needed my signature to authorise CCCS to deal with them on my behalf. I have already sent this as I did actually sign (shouldn't have, I know) the original CCCS notification of DMP letter. Thanks PDD for that letter, I'll send that to them.

Not much else to report, only that I have money left in the bank 2 weeks before payday and it's freaking me out!!...I actually can't remember the last time this happened! :j:j

We're offical then today, except our dd doesn't go to cccs till the 10th but that's just making sure the money stays in the account till then!!!! dh still not quite getting the budget and I'm not thinking the role I'm having to adopt is good for our relationship !? If he'd done all the phone calls, letters etc he might be different!
Thanks for getting me this far on the journey:Ayou're fab and have made it so much easier knowing you're all there going through the same.

Hope its a good day for everyone!

  • Hello all glad to see things are coming together for most of us. Sorry Havent stoppe by for a few days been really busy sorting all this DMP business out. About to send off the first token payment letter today, to Egg - EEEK! Feels really bad to be doing this, and just waiting to hear back from CCCS confirmign that my plan can hopefully start on 1st April. Ive seen some people on here saying not to sign letters we send out with token payments, I have sent a covering letter with the notofication of DMP and signed this, in any case our signatures are on the notification of DMP anyway so if they really wanted to use our signstures for something else (what?) then they could use this, couldnt they? Do you recommend I sign the covering letter?

Have a nice day everyone x

Hi Losing - no feeling bad, you not to! We didn't sign our token letters but did notification of dmp . DH had letter from RBS saying they couldn't proceed without is signature so he did sign the letter they asked for his signature on....don't think he should have done that ...drrr .From what I gather I think its dodgy cutting and pasting of signatures onto new documents....but thats just what I think! Can't believe that they get away with it but its obviously a big concern as all the template letters say sign digitally.
Don't know what to recommend really but out of 15 we got away with not signing the letter re 1st token payment!

I can't remember clearly, how many weeks ago?!But the notification of dmp - the letter template from cccs that we send out to creditors I am pretty sure we signed, if it has a place to sign it we did. Didn't question that as it came from cccs. Yes we did sign - I can remember nor, dh asking where do I sign....
