Just realised also I didn't add anything useful earlier!

Although yes get ahead with nappies, don't buy too many of any one brand as we got loads of Huggies cos they seemed to be the coupons that were about at the time and every one we used leaked even for wee, whereas Pampers were excellent.

Also please consider the own brands - Tesco and ASDA nappies are often much cheaper and, in our case worked just as well.

In terms of size, our DS was 8lb 7.5oz and he was in size ones for about a month then practically skipped through size two and was size 3 for ages. There is some crossover in the sizes, so we tended to switch as soon as he went into the next weight bracket.
I'm so sexy it's a wonder my underpants don't explode.
  • I'm trying to get things together for when our baby arrives, and bought some pampers nappies when they were on offer in boots (I know you're all going to say don't buy a particular brand yet til you know what you like, but tis done!).

Anyway, I've now started wondering if I've bought too many. How long do babies stay in a certain size? Sorry for the silly questions, I think I have a lot still to learn.

I've bought two of these - that can't be too many can it?

I think you'll find the first few days/weeks they are peeinng and pooping for britain and you will use anywhere between 6 and 14 a day!:)

I have a perfect solution for this, I came up with it when DD2 was 2 days old & I was on about the 7th poo change through the night in the hospital & almost out of nappies.....buy a pack of real nappy liners, line the nappy & if LO does a poo you simply have to change the liner!

When DD was born it was nice and warm as it was June (not that that means much in this country :) ) but I would just leave her nappy off and lay her on a towel with a liner on top, then if she pooed I could chuck it away and fling the towel in the wash. I was a bit obsessed with air time so she would go most of the day nappy free.

I had a pack of Tesco's & I didn't think they were very good. Jack would wake up in the night soaked through and the nappy had only been on for about a few hours
