How many nappies?

Oh dear....a sign of things to come...now that you are entering parenthood, you begin to enjoy internet shopping even if it's just for nappies!!!! Just wait until you can browse the shops for breast pads and teething gel....oh the excitement!!!
Good luck and enjoy - one of the scariest and most daunting things you will ever do, but definitely the best. (That's having a baby by the way and not buying breast pads!!):rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Size 3s are used for a quite a bit, so you'll get though them. And looks like a good offer too, so a good time to buy.
Don't bother getting too many of the smaller sizes though - DD went straight into size 2 at 9lb3 and my new nephew (born yesterday-eeee!) has gone straight into size 2 at 10lb (OUCH!)
I'd collect as many samples of the smaller sizes as you can to take into hospital with you, and have a pack or 2 of smaller sizes at home (bought in wk 38) with receipts sellotaped to them so you can return if not needed.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

My little boy only used 2 packs of size 1 he was born 8lbs7 went straight to the next size after that.... Silly me bought about 4 packs I passed the other 2 on to my SIL who was expecting.
My sister bought 6 packs of size 1 and her baby was born 10lbs6!!!! So went straight on to using size 2's

My 2nd is now 8months old and is in size 4+ whilst his 2yr old sister is in size 5...not sure if that's funny or not!

I bought in advance and ended up giving away in excess of 300 nappies!
Just buy a few packs - size 3 lasted us all of a month or so and I must have bought enough to last 4 months! And different babies have different size bums and you cant always judge it by the babies weight.
As tempting as it is to start buying them in (I know haha) it could be a waste of money in the end.50p/£24.00 Xmas 2010:rudolf:

I can't even blame being pregnant, I was like this before! Need to buy some size ones as well then, but glad I haven't bought too many at least.
I was told I was going to have an 8lb baby based on growth scans as I had gestational diabetes - J was 6lbs 3oz!
Some hospitals will have nappy samples on the ward - mine had Pampers & the MW got me some extra cos she was lovely! think I got about 10 altogether! :money:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

My baby was 7lb 3oz and i'm onto about the 6th pack of size 1's, and she's now 4 weeks old and about 9lb-odd, so i'm about to move up a size.
Well, i'm gonna buy some huggies size 1 in the Asda event first cos they're £3 but you get a £2 voucher in the pack :money:0 -

They must use the same script at my hospital. I had GD as well and was told to expect 8lb...
9lb11oz and a larger than average skull diameter later...
OP - you'd have to be very unlucky to have a baby that these didn't fit at some point, 15lb would definitely be an eye-watering experience. But different bums suit different nappies so don't go overboard on any of them. DS1 was best in Huggies, but that was when Pampers were still like cardboard and huggies were all soft and comfy, DS2 was a Lidl baby until he grew out of them and now it's Pampers and Boots absorbent nappy pads. Who knows what they'll come out with in the next 6 months
