Morning hunny, I've just had a good chuckle at your doctors receptionist story.....glad you got the prescription in the end.

You're doing a lot of hours at the moment, try not to overdo things and get that hubby to give you lots of tlc when you're not working. Sorry to hear funds are a bit tight, it's so annoying when you think you are doing okay and then 'someone' has taken money out that you didn't know about. Lets hope the Quidco money comes through okay, and you get the extra £50.

I'm glad it's not just me who finds doctors receptionists a pain to deal with. I was beginning to think it was me who had the problem because no matter where I go I seem to find them impossible to deal with. So, it's great you got one over on here elantan, enjoy your prescription if you can do such a thing.

It's funny how the receptionists have such a bad reputation isn't it - the ones at my doctors are generally lovely, but most people have a horror story to tell about them. Any doctors receptionists out there want to set the record straight? Are you lovely really but just misunderstood? Are we patients actually a complete nightmare to deal with? :D

i think alot of the receptionists have to do the jobs for the drs they have to make judgement calls and in a way i feel sympathy for them but this was just down right trying to lord it over me i wasnt asking for her permission i wasnt asking for her advice i was just asking her to do her job ...i couldve made an appointment for the dr tha wouldve taken up more valuable time and cost more money ...i know what the problem is i have had it before i know how to treat it ...i just quite rightly didnt want to pay £14 when i could pay the prescription charge..i dont think i was asking too much ...was i

No, I think you definitely should have asked and she was really cheeky to try and second guess what the doctor would say.....like it's any of her business!

I'm glad you managed to get the prescription - make sure you smile every time you take it and remember how DFW it was!

i only get to take this one once so i will smile and hope it works ...kinda reminds me abot the time i had it out with receptionists at my sons school ( i must have a thing for these people) when i asked for a prospectus for his school (before he started it ) she asked for our address when i gave her it she was like no he cant come here adamant like hell (we live approx 30 mins drive from the school) kept saying he has to go to the local one and was refusing to even send the prospectus out to me( this went on for a good wee while me knowing all the time son had the right so just let her rabbit on and on) till i explained why my son has the right to go to that school ...oh and i kept repeating that and asking her to repeat it aswell the sense of power it gave me lol lol lol ...

Our schools virtually beg you to put your name down, which is just odd because they always end up with too many kids, so some get declined a place. We live within about 5 minutes of the school (as anyone that has witnessed my last minute school run dashes will know lol), and we wouldn't have got a place for DS except that they suddenly decided to have two classes for each year and accept twice as many kids.

Hahaha, you enjoy your little victories over pettiness and incompetence - you have to have a bit of fun every now and again!
