how small is this world....now to keep this within the realms of confidentiallity it may not make sense to all of you...but today whilst at work a visitor came to our unit..and noticed that i was reading a book about finances that i have just been given for my bday..well this person said to me ..i know a cheaper, better way to look after your finances if you have access to the internet..now me being a good d.f.w my curiosity peeked ..so i said mmm tell me about it ..so she started with look up martins....and i finished her sentance ...wow i met a person who visits this site ..so we had a good old chat about how wonderful it is and my fellow work mate was like is that the place you keep telling me to look at and i'm like yeah ....so keeping anonimity for this person i would just like to say HI BEANNIE GIRL ..hope your doing great and fantastic to met a pro m.s.e ....this person will be having their brains picked everytime i meet them from now on .... and wishing they had kept their mouth shut :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0

well well well just as i thought my day was going good meeting a fellow m.s.e. it just actually got better ..now this is a rarity for me so i'm gonna tell you all about it....got a letter in today from mortgage company saying the time was running out on claiming i had been missold my endowment...now i did try for this through a company that took a percentage for sorting it out for me (pre light bulb didn't have a clue) but they kept asking for more and more info that i just didn't have or couldn't locate ...then they said they couldn't help me without it ...so today i got a nice letter in from the endowment company warning me ...so i phoned thinking i would be told no chance or asked for same info ...the lady was very pleasant took my details when i asked her what she needed she said i had given her everything..i asked her if anyone had been in touch on my behalf previously ..no came the reply ....then she asked what would make me happy and resolve the situation ..i told her money ...again she took note and in 5-7 days say's i should recieve confirmation of my complaint and in 4-6 weeks should hear my outcome ..said i had a case as far as she could see ...now i'm not that silly to expect it to go perfect ...but if i get something ....well it's more than the nothing i was getting ....0

now for part two....as i'm sure some of you are aware i am an incredibly obese (medical terminology not mine) have not bought myself clothes for over two years i have always found it so depressing nothing fits i look fat etc etc....today i took the perverbial bull by the horns dragged hubby out and bought clothes ..was offered 10% discount in one shop i was like no don't have i.d (was going cash only a total first for me ) then found hubby's visa so i had i.d took the card got the 10% saved £19 then bought shoes with the £19 (i do not posses a pair of shoes i only wear trainers that has to stop) then went into 3rd shop was offered 20% discount so signed up for the card ..saved£17 but the girl told me i could pay it straight away in another one of their shops in their group ..smack bang next door was another shop in their chain so paid it off straight away asked the girl in shop if they take payment from 1st shop ..yup came the reply ...went back to 1st shop got my temporary card went back to the shop i paid the bill in paid the 1st bill ..so saved myself a massive £36 and paid all bills off ..and as i am now totally aware of how much a rip off these cards are ..they will be cut up and account closed as soon as they arrived ... i am so proud of me today0

That's the best way to treat store cards - most have 50 days interest free
Only use them for special "cardholder" offers but always make sure you can pay it off in the stop at the same time. As much as they hate doing itNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
I'm proud of you too sweetie - what a great day and a birthday day off tomorrow - whoopee!
I'm proud of you - and I think its brilliant news about your new clothes and endowment news - you really deserve a break.

this was a totally new experiance for me i hate shopping due to weight so was dreading it ..but felt so good using my head and saving money ..i know i wouldve saved more if i didn't go ..but my clothes are rags i own two pairs of trousers and 3 tops ..that's it my entire wardrobe..unless ofcourse you coulnt all the size12's that i keep telling myself i will get back into lol....i just didn't know i could do that with store cards ..i'm so happy ...and didn't want the temptation of the 50days incase i spent the money and couldn't pay it ...just now i'm learning about how to use money right ..i don't think i can trust myself yet in not spending the money and keeping it for the 50 day's ...but next year ...well that WILL be a different story ....0
