Still no flying done here at all this week......

My mum called me last night whilst I was at college to say our dear dog had died.

I was gutted and burst into tears. He was 12.5 so quite old and I had him when I lived at home (10 years ago).

I'm devastated to say the least. Last night I had planned to get home from college and do Monday and Tuesday to catch up on what I’d missed as I was supposed to be doing my training to be a volunteer mentor tonight but instead I got in and cried my eyes out.

Tonight I am seeing my mum and taking her a Chinese. We lost my dad on Boxing day 05 so for her it is like another massive loss now as she has lost her little mate.

I will see what time I get in tonight and try to do a little something as I have cancelled my mentor training and booked on a later session and if not I will catch up tomorrow.

Sorry to put a downer on things, I’m just so sad and at work with not really anyone to talk to :(

Good that you are able to share it here - hope you and your mum don't feel too down hearted. Sounds as if he has a good life.
    xx

    .... and finally!!

Chazsucks on post 440 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:thank you for teaching me what a detergent drawer was!! Honest, honest, honest, all day yesterday I was going around wondering why and how people kept soap-powder / fabric conditioner in drawers, and why they didn't store it in a cupboard like me, but perhaps they poured the powder out into the drawer and filled it up that way! Anyway, I cleaned out my detergent cupboard (under sink!) and was going to declare it done - it never once entered my head that it was the wee thing on the washing machine :o

So, here's what I've done so far anyway:

Monday ~ Kitchen, Utility and Dining Area
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Wipe and replace small appliances[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Declutter and wipe work surfaces[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
    [STRIKE]
    Sweep and mop floors
[/STRIKE][STRIKE]Wipe units/appliances[/STRIKE] I'm declaring, however, I've set myself a goal of two 'tops' of units per week (OMG they are disgusting and take about an hour each. At this rate, it will take 2 months, however, I'm keeping them clean as I go!
Clear and wipe a cluttered fluffy shelf!
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Tidy, clear and wipe the top of the washing machines and dryer[/STRIKE]
Clean one small appliance thoroughly.. microwave, kettle, iron,
Clean deterrgent drawers :rotfl: (NOT YET!!!!!)

    Extras
    1. [STRIKE]Clean paintwork[/STRIKE]
    2. Order and organise the packets and jars and tins.
    3. Sort the utensils.. half melted spatulas are not necessary!
    4. HHI.. then wash the ironing board cover!
Tuesday ~ Hall, Stairs and Landing!
    Level One
[STRIKE]Declutter the floors and vacuum them.[/STRIKE] Have even washed them with the vax!
[STRIKE]Tidy everything you can see when the front door is open! [/STRIKE]Coats and shoe rack for me! Okay, I'm struggling now, because we have two hallways, and the coats and shoes are in the back one, which I was trying to ignore .... arghhh!
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Dust and deweb.. dnon't forget lightbulbs and shades![/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Scrub front door.. inside and out![/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Wash any curtains/draught excluders and doormats![/STRIKE]
    Level Three
Empty and declutter the cupboard under the stairs.. you do not need the junk that has been in there for a million years! Ditto as above ... you're gonna make me do it aren't you!!!!!
[STRIKE]Degunk, dejunk and clean the porch.. how many pizza leaflets do you need to wipe your feet on?[/STRIKE] I've thrown away the betterware book, you've no idea how cross she's going to be!!!!

    Extras
    1. [STRIKE]Wash windows and nets/blinds[/STRIKE]
    2. Wipe and water and furry plants not got any, I look at a plant and it dies!!!
    3. [STRIKE]Wipe paintwork and door knobs[/STRIKE]
    4. Sort coats and bags and shoes (trying to avoid!!!!!)
Wednesday ~ Living room and Dining Room (ignoring conservatory!)
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Declutter and vacuum floors[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wipe sofas and wash any smelly soft furnishings/nets[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Dust all electrical appliances and polish screens[/STRIKE]
Wipe and water plants (As above!!!)
[STRIKE]15 minutes filing and 15 minutes deleting rubbish off the computer.. useless emails, old files, updating spreadsheets etc[/STRIKE]
    Level Three
Sort through a bookshelf.. a different one to last time!
[STRIKE]Make any important phonecalls you have been putting off[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]vacuum under furniture you can move safely[/STRIKE] OMG How manky was that - hadn't moved the sofa in 4 years

    Extras
    1. [STRIKE]Check smoke alarms[/STRIKE]
    2. [STRIKE]Clean out pets[/STRIKE] 2 x hammy's clean, cat bed, fishes clean, rabbit gets done on a Saturday
    3. [STRIKE]Clear mantle of junk, wipe/polish and return pretties[/STRIKE]
    4. Empty and wash out any bins Haven't got any in lounge / d-rm
I still don't think after all that work I'm up for a star yet .... I actually need to finish a whole day.

I've run out of downstairs bookshelves, however, am going to substitute that for the dining room unit, and one third of sorting that out (either a cupboard or the 4 drawers!!)

Ho-hum, the place is definitely starting to look and feel a heck of a lot cleaner though!

Was hilarious, that this is the first time in 4 years I've washed my hall curtains or hoovered under the sofa!!!!:eek::eek:

    Happy flying x

I'm COLD!!! And it's decided that it is still snowing here after all...

I keep cooking instead of working as it's warmer! Still, I've lit the stove so hopefully it'll start to chuck out some heat soon. I really do need to get down to some proper work sometime...

nuttyruckeress I am sorry to hear about your dog. I hope you and your mum can take comfort from each other tonight. It will be hard on her, she is lucky to have such a caring daughter.

DH has finished the living room and hall so he is off upstairs hoovering all the floors. I have managed to make a broth using the chicken bones from a previous day whilst he has cleaned.

    Thank you L-l :)

Thanks for all the kind words.

When I got home DH was cooking the dinner. I disapeared upstairs and he came up to see why I hadn't come for dinner - when I lifted my head he asked what I had been putting on my face - i looked like one of the characters from where the wild things are - I was all swollen up :(

DH has been great but he has DSS tonight or we would of both visited with the Chinese.

Reggie (that was his name) has been taken to the vets this morning to be cremated.

I will try and do some flying when I get back tonight, just have to take it easy on the Chinese :)
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice

nuttyrockeress so sory to hear that, never easy loosing a pet, hugs for your Mum too x

My HHC went on a little longer than planned, partly because the phone kept going, been nuts today. Kitchens been my main area so far & the tiny LR is still a tip...bad me but 3 bags recycling/rubbish gone & one light is up, will kick DP in a mo to do the other. Hall needs a complete gutting as does downstairs loo which became a dumping cupboard ages ago but going to do that once the boys are in as it'll block the doorway when I do it. It#s depressing as it is the first thing I see when I come in so needs doing. Trying to decide where to keep things at the mo, things like wrapping paper, Wii band stuff etc....hmmm.

Think I will go do another HHC 2,15-2,45 but won't be able to report back as I will have to go pick up DS2. I will get the LR done so I can have 2 stars at least by the end of today (3 if I get the hall done)
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

    Afternoon fellow Flyers.

Firstly, ((((HUGS)))) to all with troubles; I can't keep up with the thread properly, so don't know all that's been happening. However, I have seen the sad news from Nuttyrockeress; if it helps at all, Reggie isn't truly gone while he lives in your heart.
