Jojo_the_Tightfisted wrote: »Had annoying college tutor for DD1 phoning and demanding that I come and see her tomorrow afternoon to discuss why DD1 doesn't participate in her registration tutorials. Two possible reasons - one, judging by her phone manner, the woman is irritating, patronising, rude and irrelevant - or two - because she is more interested in actually doing the A Level work set by the real tutors? All she needs to do is tick the box twice a week to say DD1 is present, after all - an occasional registration session isn't exactly an A Level subject.
Actually.. there is an obligation to be present at registration tutorials.. it is a requirement of all higher education establishments. It is so the colleges/universities can claim the required finances to support each student.. if students miss 15% of registration sessions they don't get funding.. and the students cannot get EMA/grants. This time is also used to offer help and support with other aspects of learning, passing on vital information e.g. closure dates, additional activities.. at uni this time is used for help with essay writing, cv writing etc.
And if it is only twice a week it isn't such a huge issue for DD I'm sure, she just needs to be made aware this is a requirement that she signed agreeing to when she signed the enrollment papers, if it is good enough for everyone else it is good enough for her!.

I used a dark purple (2 coats) then a coat of glitter, then a top coat. They're mavala colours - I think Tokyo and Violet Diamond(The purple is in honor of Greenbees purple glitter nail varish that sounded so lush, that it has found itself on my shopping list for when i next go into town.)
I hope you told her where to go, and are going to put in a formal complaint. It is none of her business and YOU don't need to provide her with reasons for not being in college... you're a grown upJojo_the_Tightfisted wrote: »When I tried getting out of it, she wanted to know what my hospital appointment was for - I don't want to see my personal stuff put on the college database for all and sundry to see
My new console table for the kitchen has arrived and I've put it together. It looks lovely. I'll give it a wipe later (and hoover up the mess made in the hall when they unpacked it).
I've also made a batch of spinach soup and had lunch. Due to all the mucking around with my work laptop I don't have time to walk to the post office before my next call  which is annoying as I have a return to send to craghoppers...0 -
