I do feel a bit silly though as ladies have always just got on as normal whilst pregnant:o

I am sadly at high risk of miscarriage though so when I get to that magic 12 weeks stage I'll have no excuses;):)

I do think "The Bean" (oooo sounds so much better than "bean":D) is a boy cos he's already being a pain!!

soappie... I'm sure you'll be fine;) And I agree about having lots of pictures. It all sounds very interesting... how about you use a web cam so we can watch??

  • sexy good to hear you both enjoyed your walk and I bet you're excited about the heating and the woodburner - what a difference for the 3 of you. hope there isn't too much mess to clear up. Sorry about the rude one!!!!:rotfl:
great idea pigpen what about a chignon (I think thats what they call it) where you scrape your hair back into a wee bun at the nape of your neck and you could easy make a hairband with some tinsel/ fringing/ beads - sew it onto one of these thin elastic hairband that are on the go for kids just now ( like you use on a pony tail but it goes around your head) you can use hair gel to smooth down your hair flat. Do you know anybody with a loooooooooooong cigarette holder? Lots of sequins and glitter
carol sweetie - what kind of packaging are you thinking about - try not to buy because it eats into your profits - if you need bubble wrap go to the supermarket and get it from the fruit and veg boxes - they will be delighted to give you it and its a great size - re-use bubble envelopes with labels - same goes for mail bags - if your post office has special delivery bags out on display get some of them- peel off the bar codes/ turn them inside out - they are nice and strong - you can get any size of box from the supermarket/ offlicence/ boots/ matalan all these places - just find out when the cardboard uplift is for businesses and go in the day before and they will all be flattened ready to go out. you can use non personal shredding for stuffing in too. the outer boxes of cereals/biscuits/cerealbars etc are all good - not always strong enough alone but if you put one inside a slightly bigger one and stuff in between that works - if its clothes then use big envelopes where you can or even plain carrier bags well taped up. HTH xx
welcome brodie1 - thats a real scottish name - are you here in this lovely country? - will send you a pm of tips in a mo.

kazw dont you be worrying about my list - I bet its not any worse than anybody else's - its just that I put it up there in front of you all:rotfl: its not as if I am going to be doing it all at once now is it!!! as sexy said - I listen to my body!!!! And I have been a lazy mare recently and really do need to get the head down and batter on while I can - I am wanting to make the most of the good weather when it comes and be outside more and doing more with my precious time.

soappie your suggestions did not fall on deaf ears - I just dont have the capability to 'up and do things' like I used to - I do appreciate your input and I am trying - I too need a kick up the posterior now and then. Its a pity you havent got your book finished - you could be selling signed copies!!! Brilliant advice from everybody so no need for me to stick my tuppence worth in - I would be better with the strangers than the people that know me! You will be brilliant - look how many arguments you have had with the council - you can handle a bunch of little old ladies - easy peasy :rotfl:
lil_me - awh pet I am sorry to hear about your Dad - that must be painful for him - loads of *get well soon and although you are in pain dont be a pain* vibes for him and (((hugs))) for you.
oh smartie please be extra careful hun until you get past 12 weeks - now I will be worrying about you xxxxx

Soappie I'd do the slides then talk, you'll be amazed how little you can fit in. Always giving time for appropriate questions of course. Start with the 10 slides if you feel more comfortable but with history I'd say more pictures the better too, 20 sounds great.

Thanks Lil-me. The slides will be more maps and pictures than bullet point text I think. I think I'll also start off - with the March lot at least - asking how long they've lived there and what they know of the history of the area - bit of audience participation...

A squidge stressed, took my mind off money troubles that my Dad has been taken into hospital. Well no because it makes getting to see him harder but realising more what is important. He's been taken in with gall stones, infection and poor liver function....

Hugs love - I hope he's not evicted before he gets better...

Thanks Smartie - you take it easy there.... xx And no - there'll be no web cam - I'll not be getting Buster  out of retirement, not least because there are no transmission facilities at either venue. The one in March, I'm going to have to source a projector for. (But I'm 90% certain I know where I can get one from!)
