except when we turn into SMURFS lol
ooooooooooh smurfs, I was only thinking earlier today when we have stopped being yellow we could go blue or maybe green this time :rotfl:
Rose - I wish you luck in finding a way forward to health and happiness x
Been comparing electricity/gas prices. Can I ask - how many of you pay your's by monthly DD? Is anyone on one of the tied in tariffs? The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Being an almost newbie here, I don't think I've ever felt as welcomed or as wanted as on this thread.
One thing I've discovered in the past couple of weeks is that everyone here is lovely, and in hard times this is where I'd want to be.
Please don't go x0 -
Nopot - NN is Nice Neighbour.
NN is a 73 year old widow who works full time 4 days a week and is like a Mum to me. We've been friends for years and I love her to bits. We get together every Friday evening (alternate between her house and mine) for gin and gossip. And usually go on holiday together once a year - taking BB of course!
Hope your ickiness clears up soon xxx[/QUOTE]
Ahhhhh... NN is nice then... I love it
I feel better tonight..
Not sickie...but ok0 -
Crafty - are you sure that's you and you've not been taken over by a Stepford Wife? Stars? Blimey
:D But well done - go you!

Make sure you have done your comparison based on your usage (worked out from actual meter readings 12 months apart) NOT on your DD or estimated readings. The tariffs where you are tied in are best if you want to protect yourself from fluctuations in the price of gas/elec, but you're hedging your bets as to whether prices will go up or down. If they go up, your in the money, if they go down, you lose out. I'm on a monthly variable DD - I read my meters each month and am charged for what I use. Which means winter is expensive and summer costs next to nothing. Nightmare for budgeting, but saves the confusion as to how the DD is worked out.
I'm still faffing about pretending to work0 -
Thanks Greenbee - I have done it all on actual yearly useage. Think I'll look at the saving for just ditching E7 and moving to DD to see what the difference it.
Throat is sore from screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeching at kids and OH (notice no D) - must learn to protect throat.
Quick hunt around for any stray white dirty washing before I set the WMThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
AnWsMum (((hugs))) for you all, I took great pride in sharing 'why the yellow' today, for a special family
kazm well done to your DD, that is great, I know it's been a 'bit of a battle' but great with the journal too
Sabs lovely thing to do, I think you deserve exta stars for that!
tooch happy being Aunty day
macpep if you're not on yet please send again and just PM me or pigpen your name
I'm sat here having a 'reflective' moment. Wondering if it's all worth it. This is extemely trivial compared to what others are going through so RANT ALERT - need to let it out somewhere, won't be able to here until Monday
We moved to save money but have 'spent' it getting the new furniture/carpets etc, more than spent the first years worth. Now sat wondering if we're kidding ourselves with this caravan lark. It's costing me £800+ a month inc caravan, car, site fees etc etc over the year....and DPs work is VERY quiet. He's just got all stressy on the phone and I am wondering if it's worth it. We do love it but I always was one to shy away from the 'holidays abroad' because I didn't want to pay for it all year just for the sake of holidays. I think we need to do some serious talking. We could sell both my car and the caravan, paying the finance off and get me a cheap run about. Like we always had before. I just wonder if now work is quiet we're going to end up living above our means. We spend his wages and more just on holidays it works out at the mo.what to do...I know in 2.5 years both will be paid for, but is it worth struggling for that long, he's on about doing more hours (what he gives me won't increase it's to repay his Mam) ARGH! I'm going to get a financial few pages together, with what we can save & where, then chat with DP....probably next week as he's always too tired on a weekend. I've emailed a company that buys caravans to try to get a figure for that.
Ok back to normal, ish, DW been on and will empty before bed. 2 sacks of rubbish/recycling flung. Few things quickly tidied, more laundry on the radiators. While I am doing the money planning/options I am going to do some diary planning. I am going to set out each day what I WILL get done as I want this house sorting by February half term. So fed up of it now. I am going to try to do the lists plus my extras to keep other rooms ticking over as my BIG fail is concentrating on one thing and everything else falls apart.
Sickened completely by the woman who failed her son so much, sick ***** by pretending he was poorlyOne day I might be more organised...........

Rosep - how many times have we said you can run but you can't hideI think we need you to post each day and, if Toots is agreeable, we'll give you a special post-a-day star like we do others. Just so we know what you're up to. You have brought a lot to the thread since you started posting so please don't stop now xxx
Isn't it lovely when people come into your life like this and you get along so well...
Yes it is. NN has lived next door ever since I bought this place back in 1989. (I did move out for about four years at one time and rented the place but then moved back in again)
We share a gardener, we share a hairdresser. She came with me when I went to view puppies and her advice helped me choose the right one - my Beffy Boo. If I've ever had any sort of problem I've needed to discuss with someone (when I've felt I can't discuss with my kids or my BF up the road) she's been there to listen and advise.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
