    Hugs Lil-me - tough choices.

But, I know how much your lads and you have enjoyed having the freedom the caravan gives you during the spring, summer and autumn non-school times. The things you've told us since you got it about how your lads have enjoyed your weekends away in the caravan has been, quite frankly, uplifting.

My advice would be if you can scrape the money together (and you're v. good at that!) to keep the caravan on so you and the boys (and DP of course!) have the freedom to roam when the whim takes you , then do it xxx

Thanks Greenbee - I have done it all on actual yearly useage. Think I'll look at the saving for just ditching E7 and moving to DD to see what the difference it.
Depending on your E7 contract, you need to use about 25% of your electricity at night for it to be worthwhile. If you don't have storage heaters, it's unlikely that you'll use this, even if you put timeswitches on WM/DW/SC etc to maximise use. Some careful analysis of the figures and a bit of working out what usage you could move around will help you work it out.

Right... I'm going to stop pretending to work, and go to be with my hot water bottles!.

Night all... see you in the morning.

And hopefully I'll see Froddy, JillD and sexymouse for our walk tomorrow (soappie's depriving BB of our company this time :p ... we'll have to find something a bit nearer next time)

I did discuss it with BB and even she thought, however exciting the prospect of a v. long walk o'er hill and down dale with such lovely people was, given a 90 minute drive to get there, followed by a 90 minute drive home afterwards more than a tad exhausting. And the balance of negatives seemed to outweigh the positives :p

hugs lilme - I know what you mean about the caravan! Especially as ours hasnt been out since beginning of July. Ours is £320/month for the van plus roughly £1 a day for storage, then theres the servicing etc. In fact just checked what it has cost us since Nov 08 - £16435 storage 546, service 206 and another one due, 547 ins, 1500 equipment, 500 towbar and at the moment for a total of 6 trips ranging from 1 to 7 days . You have used yours far more and the boys love it so it will be a hard decision but I can see where you coming from. We're planning the Ardeche with friends in the summer but yesterday DH realised is 800 miles each way :p. And dont get me started on the bike :rotfl:

As for the woman and her son - Munchausen by proxy - appalling, that poor laddie.

As for sorting the house, I've been saying that and it'll be 10 years here this Dec!!!
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Yes my car is the tow car tooch, hence I have a LandRover (not new of course it's 7 years old) because it's a large van (max weight is 1600 ish) when season starts....well he wanted to go away in February, I'd probably regret it but at the minute it's a lot of money we're pulling out if things are tight or not. I love it I really do, Kazm you are right we spent 1/3 of last year in it, but it's just if it is worth the stress. DP also had to come back weekends for work but said he prefered that way. You all seem to know me better than I do, I posted that about getting rid then cried :o I need to pull the finances together see if there is another way. We got it to pay for within 3 years saving on interest to keep it as our 'forever' caravan so after 3 years it was 'free' apart from services/fixing etc. Thank you for knowing me so well & the sensible advice.

kazm with the house, join me if you like, going to drag through diary to work out where my 'spare' time is and set tasks based on how busy I am. Several weeks house, meals, money etc plan all there......as I'm too geeky to cope with the higgledy piggledy my life is now so I'm going to try a 3 weeks plan for everything.

Kaz another thought, shop around for storage & service, your storage is £230 a year & servicing I pay £140 I think for ours, insurance is over £100 more too considering your DH is older I am suprised.

soappie does BB not travel well? My dog loves the 2 hours usually takes to get to a caravan site.
One day I might be more organised...........
