STS can be tough but when I STS after keeping to the plan, then manage to keep to the plan I find my loss is a little bigger when it does happen. Of course, keeping to the plan when your scales have gone and mocked you with the same weight as last week is far too tricky! Good luck this week nessie and annie!

Hi everyone, well I went and joined a class on Wednesday. I have to admit I didn't follow the plan at all yesterday as we were out for the day and already had naughty food planned but we did walk 10 miles and it was hilly so I'd have burnt tonnes of kcals!!! So first proper day today, planning an EE day and here's what I've had/will be having.....

    Breakfast - yogurt & banana
Lunch - mixed salad with ham and boiled egg, gfat free dressing, extra light salad cream (1) and 6 x ryvita crackerbread (HEB)
Tea - turkey chilli, rice & salad. Not worked out the chilli yet but there will be a few syns I'd think as it has cocoa powder in it.
HEA is milk in my cuppas!

Should leave me with a few syns to satisfy my addiction to pink & whites lol!

Oh and I walked 3 miles and mucked out 2 stables before brekkie too!

    !
I just made a salad of red and white cabbage, courgette and an apple. I used about 1/8 of each of the cabbages, and 2 inches of courgette and a small apple - it made the biggest bowl of salad I have ever seen! A tblsp of vinegrette dressing stirred through and I must admit it does taste very nice! However the same thing could have been done with a food processor or any good food chopper really. However I will try and use it - I did fine the raw vegetables very filling:)

    Marion

I have just stood and finely chopped cabbage, carrots, onions and potato oh how I wish I lived closer to you Marion, coulda popped round to use the new gadget :rotfl:

    Hi Nessie,

I think clear spirits are lowest in syns, so gin, vodka, bacardi etc are best and if you do go for them remember to have slimline mixer. Ordinary tonic might taste bitter but it still has loads more syns than the slim one! If you really hate all of these, maybe have a glass of wine as a spritzer and make it last. And low alcohol lager is a bit better syn wise than the real stuff. Sorry, maybe someone can be more specific about syns, I'm just doing what goes round in my head as I stand at that bar!

Clear spirits definately best, with slimline tonic or diet coke (Some bars also do slimline bitter lemon, a very few do slimline other things so do check, otherwise its diet coke or soda water all the way I'm afraid!)

other non-creamy spirits aren't too bad - I think its well worth an extra syn for my staple tia maria and diet coke (off the top of my head a 25ml vodka is 2.5 syns, tia maria is 3.5). Are you a whiskey drinker? that'd be low too.

just a leetle word of caution as slimming world usually used to list thwm in 25ml measures, whereas most pubs serve 35ml now.

    Thank everyone
I think Saturday will definately be a flexi day - although i won't follow it to the letter - i will stick to Ameretto on the rocks! And i will still eat the same as i usually would and try to resist the burger van/kebab shop on the way home! Might take a hifi bar/alpen light bar if i get the munchies when everyone else gets the 'bad' stuff!!! If of course i am not too drunk to forget!
Will try to have no more than 5 syns today and sunday!

  • Good luck tomoz takeiteasy!! I hope the scales match up with your decreasing waistline!! Although the latter is what's most important! :) And eh - well done on resisting the [STRIKE]goodies[STRIKE]baddies at lunchtime!!

I slipped today and gorged myself on chocolate (great willpower eh?? Can't even last a full 2 days on track hhhhmmmmppphhh!!!) - I was very tempted to just write the day off and crack open the vino/crisps!! I pulled on a pair of my "fatter" jeans to nip to the shop though and they were too small!! Sob!!!

So that's motivated to stick the wine back in the fridge, and crack out the Wii fit instead!

Oh - and I've had the spicy pork and mexican rice from this months mag cooking away all afternoon so I'm just about to go and eat that - I'll let you all know how it tastes and whether it's worth the effort! :)

    So today for me:

Brekkie: 2 Weetabix with s/skimmed milk (HEB & HEA)

    Snack: Plum and tangerine

Lunch: veg omellette with basil (yummy!!!)

Snack: 1/8th Easter Egg + 1 Cream Egg!! (BOOOOO!!!!! :()

Dinner: Spicy Pork and mexican rice

Stand by: sugar free jelly with muller and strawberries!!

Have a great Friday night everyone!!

    xx

Hi everyone, I wonder if you could help me with a query. I desperately need to lose weight, and I am trying to decide whether to join Slimming World. I have done SW before, quite a few years ago, and everything was based on having Green or Red days.

I bought the latest edition of SW magazine and in the seven day food plan it looks as though you can now eat unlimited amounts of meat AND unlimited potatos/rice on the same day. Is that right? And more importantly does it work?!! It sounds great, as one of the reasons I gave up SW was because I got frustrated with the restriction of not really being able to mix meat and carbs, but I don't see how you could eat unlimited amounts of both and still lose weight!

I would be really grateful if anyone could give me an idea of how it works - are other things more restricted to make up for being allowed to eat both things?

Hello Snuggles and welcome. Actually somebody asked the exact same question just yesterday so I will post the reply I posted then plus a little extra! First of all yes EE does work - loads of people have lost loads of weight with it. The mail problem with it is the same as with every diet - you have to stick to it for it to work!:D

From the SW site and a few comments of mine!
There are 3 Extra Easy steps:
    1
Choose Free Food first – Pasta, rice, potatoes, beans, lean meat, fish, poultry, fruit, vegetables and eggs – they’re all Free!Everything that was free on Red and free on Green is free on EE!:j In addition to this you should try to ensure that your plate should contain at leat 1/3 superfree foods (most veg/fruit etc), this will give you your weight loss and keep things moving along - plus the obvious health benefits!

    2
Choose Healthy Extras – Each day select one Healthy Extra ‘a’ choice and one Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice. This is where you have to be careful - only one of each!!

    3
Enjoy 5 -15 Syns each day – for those little pleasures other diets ban! Syns are counted at the lower number if they differ on red and green. So if something is 2 syns on a red day and 20 syns on a green day, on an EE day they would be 2 syns!
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!
