  • Morning all

What a beautiful day! I am still on Easter Hols - (work in a school and lucky enough to work term time only) so off to visit my sis today. She has sorted out her wardrobe i am going to pick through before the charity shop gets a look in:D

Havent thought about my food for the day yet. I have some fresh tuna in the fridge so will do that with salad tonight apart from that not sure. I have plenty of good stuff in the cupboards so I should be ok.

Consultant i am doing body optimise online so do not have the opportunity to buy scan bran while at a class - could I substitute it for All Bran perhaps?

I did the fish pie yesterday for supper. I made it with a carrot and swede topping (red day) and it was lovely. In fact i have left overs so could have that for lunch! Todays food is sorted :D

I am mummy to an Isabelle too :j

Glad it turned out well! :T

Would you mind posting the fish pie recipe? :)

I'm liking your thinking with the chips joey-lou!!

How does extra easy work though? The last time I did SW there were only red/green days

    xx

From the SW site and a few comments of mine!
There are 3 Extra Easy steps:
    1
Choose Free Food first – Pasta, rice, potatoes, beans, lean meat, fish, poultry, fruit, vegetables and eggs – they’re all Free!Everything that was free on Red and free on Green is free on EE!:j

    2
Choose Healthy Extras – Each day select one Healthy Extra ‘a’ choice and one Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice. This is where you have to be careful - only one of each!!

    3
Enjoy 5 -15 Syns each day – for those little pleasures other diets ban! Syns are counted at the lower number if they differ on red and green. So if something is 2 syns on a red day and 20 syns on a green day, on an EE day they would be 2 syns!
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!

I went skiing on Tuesday with they guys from my office and managed to say no to all the goodies they'd brought for the journey.

However at lunch there was nothing in the restaurant that was both vegetarian and SW friendly. Not a baked potato in sight and the only salad they had that wasn't already dressed in a creamy dressing (potato salad etc) was grated carrot and lettuce!

So I sighed and had a soft pretzel and a drink. The soft pretzel was probably around 400 cals according to online sources. When I got home late that night I agonised over what to have to eat. Just have a low cal microwave meal or have SW friendly beans and eggs on toast.

I went with the microwave meal in the end which was 400 cals which with the milk I'd had that day brought me to a total of 1000 cals -lower than is healthy. I decided to just call in a calorie day but am now worried that I should have synned the pretzel and stuck with SW.

Wish I knew how SW really worked, scientifically speaking. Sometimes it seems like magic since I know on SW I eat more calories every day that I ever did calorie counting!

I guess I'll find out on Monday's WI whether one low cal day is bad for SW!

I did slimming world last year and well being a rubbish dieter I stopped and started and then left and tried something else and recently did the Cambridge diet and lost 1st – :)I can’t do that one forever and well I’m back onto food and I need to manage myself so I have gone back to the faithfully that I know works. I have joined online starting today well not got off to the best of starts as it’s my bosses birthday today and I was forced to go out for lunch. It was pub grub and I didn’t have any time to prepare or plan and it was all burgers and chilli and chips and fried and nightmare. So in the end I went for the only thing with salad, lasagne – probably not the healthiest but I enjoyed it :o and I hoped it was healthier – ish.
So have got back to the office and worked out my syns and well let’s just say I shall be flexi synning for a few days well maybe most of the week to even them out.
I am also planning on having plenty of free salad for my tea to make up for the naughtiness.

Also I have a question (perhaps not so quietly at the back) Tesco do a light choices raisins and apple flat biscuit (same as the go ahead ones just Tesco brand) and from what I can see they are 3 syns per slice – is this right –that’s a lot as they come in a pack of 3.

Also any suggests for breakfast as this is the only meal I really struggle with...

    Thanks in advance

My apologies to all who fancy the Scan Bran recipes. As Nessie says, they are 1 syn each now and so my recipes are a little out with the syn values - my fault for not double-checking before posting :o Have amended syn values, though lots of the recipes use 5 SB which is a HEB. If you spot any more mistakes, I'm not here :rotfl:

Crap_with_money.com - Marion's explanation of the EE plan was spot-on but you are recommended to have at least one third of a plate of superfree foods (veg/fruit) with each main meal. This helps your weight loss and also makes sure that you get your 5 a day.

JenIttels - the theory behind food optimising is quite scientific. Suffice to say that the foods you are encouraged to eat freely tend to be foods with a high nutritional value which are also filling and release energy slowly to help you feel full for longer - they are also foods without too many calories. Just trust it, follow it and you honestly can't lose (well, you can, but only unwanted weight, lol). One bad day shouldn't make a difference to your weight loss at this stage of your journey. Forget it and just get back on track :)

brokebutnotbroken - you can buy Scan Bran and Oat Bran at Holland & Barrett (often cheaper than group too).
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    evening everyone

yesterday was not a great day (after my run in with all those apples;)) - as my fab DD had been baking. She really can bake, and there were 2 biscuits tins full of rock cakes and cookies (massive ones, with smarties in)....I even forced myself to the gymn to avoid them - but to no avail - I totally crumbled - and seriously scoffed:o. So am writing off yesterday (it messes with my brain if I try and even syns out over a week - I just end up feeling deprived, which defeats the object for me)

But today is going better - and I have avoided the tins since (unbelievably there are still some left).
Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side
