  • Hi all you lovely lot.

I'm planning on starting with SW again and thought I'd pop on here. I won't be going to a group as I'm well known locally and tbh it was really awkward last time. The EE plan is new for me and I think it'll really work well. It should be easier to follow with the kids and Mrs Ging (she loves meat and I'm a carb junkie) plus it'll stop me ending up on terracotta days like I used to.

I have about 7 stone to lose... more according to the height/weight charts but I have no desire to be slim, only healthier. In fact that has always been part of the problem. Most people (let's be honest) join groups because they are unhappy with how they look and i understand that but I have always (well, post teens!) been happy with my curves. I guess I'm lucky that Mrs Ging has never had a problem with my size IYKWIM ;) and it has never really stopped me doing anything I wanted to.

My motivation now is more about being healthy for my kids and being a good role model for them especially for my eldest son who has some food issues.

Anyway, I was hoping that this board might keep me going when all I want is a bottle of wine and a family size bar of chocolate :rotfl:.

Off to plan my week... and my success!

Ok guys I have little chocolate chicks and bunnies from hotel chocolat but no syn value available and no nutritional values. Each choc is 9grams ?? how much do you think?? A chocolate from an average chocolate box is 2 1/2 do you think that would be about right for these

Am having a good day today but am soooooo bloated

Breakfast - weetabix milk HEA HEA

Lunch - out to harvester so had char grilled chicken, Jacket pot no butter/sour cream, and tonnes of salad - no dressing
I did have a small bread roll tho - 5 syns and a small spot of mayo LF prob less than a table spoon - 2 syns

Tea - Lamb dinner (last nights left overs) and maybe a bowl of windy soup (thanks for the tumeric tip but am not a fan of that spice so OH will have to put up with the wind lol) gravy 1 syn

    8 syns

All that veg and salad is prob the cause of me bloating up (honest I look like I am pregnant) but am not streesing as it is all abdomen not everywhere like when i am putting on weight. Poor hubby might as well sleep down stairs to night ha ha ha

    happy Bank Holiday everyone:)

Have been taking the scenic route recently - but have lost a little weight over the last few weeks - am feeling much more in the sw mindset now - and have also agreed to do a 10k race with a friend in July:eek: - and it would be much easier to do if I can lost a stone before then (don't know about anyone else, but in my experience regular exercise DOESN'T mean the weight just falls off - its really irritating:rotfl:)
Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side

  • Hi all

I've just started slimming world today after switching from weight watchers. I am concerned that I may gain weight this week because of the switch, does anyone have any experience of this? Can anyone reassure me?

Gingernut, welcome - hope you'll get some inspiration and support here; sounds like you have a good attitude to food and it would be great for all of us to set up healthy eating habits in our kids too. Let us know how you go!

Rupe, I really agree with you about exercise; I enjoy doing it if I'm in the right frame of mind and it does make me feel great when I've done it, but it doesn't make any difference to my weight loss, I just have to eat properly (ie SW) for that to happen. Glad you commented on it, as I thought it was just my body not doing what it was supposed too!!

Hope everyone is enjoying the Easter break. Beware of choc eggs jumping up and forcing their way into mouths!! ;)
  • Hi all

i keep seeing you mention Windy Soup - how do you make this? also not sure if anyone saw my post on the last page? Has anyone done the 7 day menu plan from the magazines and if so does it seem to cost much more than your usual shop? I am thinking of following one of the plans but not sure if it will cost too much

    thanks

Most people who switch from WW to SW have the same fear. On SW you can eat so much more than you ever could on WW so it's only natural to think more food = more weight. However with SW you are advised to eat lots and lots of free food and eating too little is sometimes what prevents the weight loss. You have to really put you're trust in the plan because it does work and even if the first couple of weeks are slow, the weight WILL start coming off. Good luck xx Oh and in my opinion it is far more healthy than WW :)

The "windy" soup contains about four cans of different beans :D, you will find the recipe a few pages back (about 2 weeks ago if I remember, maybe three). I've never tried one of their seven day menus, sorry - I'm more worried about the time element than the cost but glancing through the menus does seem to involve entirely different ingredients for each meal! Online there's also a student menu which does have a set £ amount and might be more useful, as long as you enjoy baked beans :o
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
