Wonder if you saw my idea of adding a teasp of Turmeric to the soup to help stop the windy side effects. If so, did it work?
Works ok for me (now someone will tell me Turmeric is full of syns lol )

Dear all
Are we allowed to post photos on here? I was just preparing a gorgeous corn fed free range chicken for the slow cooker and pulled out the lumps of fat from inside. I chopped them to throw out for the birds then on second thought decided to weigh it first. It weighed exactly 1 ounce, and I photographed the fat on the scale to prove it. I'm going to print it out for me, and put it on the wall so that when I "only" have a half pound loss I can look at that and think "well, I lost eight times as much as that!" and feel better about it, and I wondered if it would help anyone else?

I've popped it on anyway and if it's not allowed or you think it's a bad idea tell me and I will whip it off.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Hi all, sure I've posted on one of the previous SW threads but it's so long ago ... anyway, I used to go to SW in about ... erm ...hmm, must be around 1994, got monumentally depressed the longer I went and eventually gave up when my consultant said I wasn't losing because I was snacking on too many tomatoes. Oddly enough, that group no longer exists.
I've dithered around for years, trying occasionally to follow the SW way using what I remembered (I got rid of my books from group, made me feel so wretched I didn't want any reminders). However, I finally bit the bullet last week, joined a group 20 miles from home, and they're lovely!
The group nearest home runs three times a day on Thursdays, but is no good for me at all as I work in the mornings, have three children with me at 5 p.m and MIGHT be able to go IF DH gets himself home from work by 7 p.m but couldn't guarantee it every week. So, I looked on the website for a Tuesday group (he doesn't work on Tuesdays) and chose Okehampton as the next nearest town.
Anyway, I weighed in at 12st 1lb, but didn't look at where my weight had been entered in the back of the book until I got home - whoever entered it has put my Club 10 target down as 10st 4lb. I can't make that work out at 10% less than my present weight whichever way I try - it's surely nearer 15%? Much as I'd like to be 10st 4lb, I need to lose a lot more than 10% of my weight to get there! Think I need to have a word on Tuesday ...
I was given a massive Thorntons egg with nine additional choccies in the box this morning, I'm sat here looking at it and I really, really don't want it. I wouldn't hurt his feelings by saying so though
Finally, and on a delicate note, has anyone else suffered from ... well, shall we say "intestinal hurry" since starting SW? I thought it might just been the veg and lentil soup I've been eating for lunch for three days, and it will settle down by this evening (I do hope so, we're going out for the afternoon in a minute!)
Happy Easter everyone xx :icotbaske

Please can I join too? I joined a group on Wednesday and am doing well so far, I think. I had my little boy in November and now have 3 stone to shift. I'm finding the menu plans on here really helpful for ideas.
Just nomming some quorn bolognese and pasta for lunch. I've weighed my Easter Egg out into 5 syn portions so I can have one of those a night and not break the diet...although I'm having two lots tonight as it's Easter and I haven't used any syns on anything else.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
I think that's a great idea! Thankyou! It is really inspiring to see just how much fat we are losing - half a pound sounds like nothing but looking at it like that makes you realise just what a difference it is makingSome people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass0

Got-It, I bought myself an egg and broke it into 30g pieces, I'm counting them as 4 syns each, hoping that is about right. I am eating 30g a day (except today as I plan to have two glasses of wine as my syns today).
Soggy, I bet it's the lentils three days running that's having you ..erm... running! It's all weight loss though eh, both the hurrying to the loo and what happens when you get there.
I confess: I was chatting to someone at our group last week and I confessed that I had considered weighing myself before and after a "big jobbie" visit; this girl said she had done that and it made hardly any difference. (here I want to add the thought "what a bummer" but can't decide if it's appropriate :rotfl: ):jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!
