I agree with Kath; frozen is especially useful if you are cooking for one (has anyone any idea how LONG a cabbage lasts for us singletons:eek: ) although I do buy fresh as often as poss for the things I really love, partly because I only have a small freezer section on top of my fridge. That has lots of quorn products and frozen fruit in it. Tip: raspberries are often sold really cheaply at the end of the day as they soon deteriorate. Buy them up at 50p a punnet and freeze them, you only need a handful on your cereal or mixed into fruit salad each day to get a taste of summer.

2lb loss at WI this week, and the slimmer of the month award! Very chuffed indeed.

I'm going to celebrate with a slice of the Spanish orange cake from the website - only 4 syns and it's gorgeous!

    Food today

    B - 3 weetabix [hb's] milk [a] coffee

L - left over veg, pots, carrots, peas & cabbage with oxo gravy. Muller, babybel [a], cherry toms.

T - rest of left over veg stir fried in frylite with stir fried rice & beans. Still haven't managed to eat my frozen vanilla & choc muller as not been well but may eat it tonight.

Snacks - apple, toms & bottle water

Syns - none so far :o

I have battery for new scales but was afraid to use them after being told it may be half a stone heavier BUT plucked up courage last night when I thought i'd be heavier anyway and to my delight it was the same as the dodgy scales :T. So looking forward to wi at weekend.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

  • Hello All
Not posted before. Am doing slimming world from home, not done it for about a year. Got about 6 - 8lb to loose and basically just need to stop being a pig! I really struggle with red days for my lunch? I use a HEb for breakfast and quite like to save the other for the carbs at night (still doing red and green days). Any advice? Also in the magazines they list some items from supermarkets that are free or how many syns. you don't know of a central place you can see more things like this? They only usually list about 5 in the magazine!!
  • Well, just back from morrisons and WI. Actually quite into the whole spending as little as possible this week thing - might do it occasionally and spend the savings on something nice :)

Put on 1lb this week - not too certain why, but had one off day, thought i'd still lose but apparently not. On for a good week this week though fingers crossed. Consultant has just told us the smallish hollow easter eggs are about 9 syns each, (and IIRC about a quid to buy) so might have one on Sunday to make sure I don't feel completely left out.

As for my shopping, I got a carrier bag full for £2.78!

    bag of sprouts for 9p
    twin baby gem lettuce, 9p
    pack of 4 apples, 30p
    Bag of carrots, 30p
    large Tin of sweetcorn
    packet of spaghetti
    3 x mug shots (currently 47p each or 3 4 2)
2 pack of individual sized cream cheese thingies, was only 37p and is my little contribution to wanting cheese this week and making do with long life milk instead!
Might have got something else but can't remember...
could have had stir fry veg for 9p but it looked runny so gave it a miss!
Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels

this is the mini measuring jug, it's £2+ not the 70p I fondly remembered, but still excellent for measuring spirits too.

  • Well I don't know whats happened?? Weighed myself at Boots on the 16th March and weighed 11st 11 lbs, couldn't weigh myself the week after as the machine was out of order, went today and I'm  12st 11lbs........a whole stone on!!

I haven't really stuck to SW but I have cut down my portions and I've done a bit more exercise, even went for a run & swimming. I did feel muscles in my bum that I didn't know I had so maybe the extra weight is that?! :rotfl::rotfl:

It is * week so I did allow for a slight gain but a STONE?? :( I don't feel at all heavier, I can only hope that when the machine was fixed something went wrong, don't know what or how but it's the only thing keeping me from crying :rotfl:

Hope everybody else has had better news!

I think it is the machine. What was your weight before was it close to the first boots readout? It sounds like youve sts rather than put on a whole stone. Unless you ate 4 cheeseburgers each day plus a pizza for dinner I still dont think you could put on that much in a week.
