Can any one tell me which is the lowest syn margarine please. Thinking new potatoes during the week with a little margarine. I've given up with the syns online. I'm having a nightmare trying to make a recipe that my son has to make at school next week, both sw friendly and wheat free!!

i use clover light which is 1 syn per level tsp. I'm not sure if there is a lower one out there

TakeItEazy - i don't think chinese is too bad if you avoid the battered food like the plague lol. For example, a 360g serving of beef in black bean sauce is 5syns on red/ee and 16.5 syns on green. If you were to have that with plain boiled rice on EE with stir fried veg @ 6.5 syns for 340g you'd only be having 11.5 syns and you'll be eating LOADS!

My food for today is a bit better than yesterday! lol

    EE

B - 2x sunnybisk with chopped banana (heb) with milk (hea), Cup of tea

didn't really have lunch as was out all day - had 4 chicken kebab thingy's (were plain with light spicing so assume free...) had 2syns worth of mikado sticks.

D - Chicken, chips and salad with 2tbsp of Hellmans extra light mayo mixed with tsp of mustard (1.5syns)

Dessert - i finally located quark in my local morrisons which i made lemon cheesecake with. I made it using one digestive biscuit (3.5syns) the quark mixed with lemon zest, lemon juice and lots of sweetener then topped with 1 tsp of lemon curd (1syn) Was yummy but very very lemony so will not use as much lemon next time lol. 4.5syns

    total syns today = 8

All hail to the sale!!!!!!

    new beginnings...... new successes..

  • Well then, tackle one day at a time. Spend an hour tonight planning what you will eat tomorrow. Allow yourself lots of food (make as much as possible free foods) and plan exactly how you will use up your syns - all 15 of them.

Plan for a big breakfast - maybe bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes and even home-made hash browns.

Lunch - perhaps a chicken breast, stuffed with HEA cheese and a rasher of lean bacon wrapped round (pin together with a cocktail stick). Serve with dry-roast potatoes, parsnips, sweet potatoes and your favourite yummy veg.

Dinner - hard-boiled eggs, chopped and mixed with a little black pepper, Helmann's Extra light mayo on a bed of salad leaves. Add tomatoes, cucumber, onion etc etc.

Treats........well, that's up to you. You could have a glass of wine (or two). You could have a Curly Wurly (my personal favourite cos it takes ages to eat). You could have almost anything. Look in your food optimising book at the syn list and pick out whatever you fancy up to your limit of 15.

Don't forget to drink lots of water or sugar-free squash 'n water right through the day. Keep yourself hydrated, it's a mood lifter IMO.

Just think about tomorrow. If you make it right through the day staying on target, give yourself a huge pat on the back, come on here and post and we'll give you another :D BUT, if you don't make it all the way without going off track, don't consider yourself a failure, look at what you did do right and celebrate that. Promise yourself that the next day, you'll go just a bit longer before you succumb to something off-plan.

The very worst thing you can do is hate yourself - after all, if you're so hateful, what's the point in trying to better yourself? You know, you're not hateful, your situation is, but that will end sooner, rather than later, so there'll soon be lots to celbrate. Celebrate a new you at the same time!!!
Wow, thank you so much for that post, I did read it late last night but was far too tired to respond then.

Anwyay, I had a good day, had a nice cooked breakfast, Quorn sausages are well nice!
Ended up having cereals for lunch to use my HE's and tonight i'm having rump steak, new potatoes, with half a plate of baby corn and mange tout, oh and 8tbsps gravy, yum yum!
I discoveverd pink and whites last week so had on earlier and might treat myself to one after dinner.

I realise I've been far too hard on myself, I mean I'm only human!

Not sure which is the lowest, but my fave is clover lighter, 1syn for 1level tsp, I find it does the trick with new tatties, also seasoned with a bit of salt and pepper, yummers!
  • Morning everyone! Gosh i really don't like putting the clocks forward...

I've just read through yesterdays posts.

Dontknowanymore - Please please please do not hate yourself. You have taken action that some women aren't brave enough to do. You have been brave and strong enough to do it! Yes, i imagine it must be hell for you at the moment, BUT you WILL win this battle. You have already made the biggest step by getting yourself out of there! :T You are a brave, strong woman, who is an amazing person and wonderful mother! As consultant said - take things one day at a time, don't put pressure on yourself.

If you need to get things off your chest, post it on here (you can PM me at anytime!) We're all here to listen and help you as much as poss! I'm wishing you all the luck in the world, and i'm sending MASSIVE HUGS right your way. Don't forget - you can do this!!
Thank you, all your kind words really mean alot to me :A
  • Hello all. I have been back on slimming world since Jan and popped in to say hi back then I think, but have run into a bit of an MSE crisis and need to pick your brains! :o

I have just changed jobs, and due to it being shift work and when my last/first shifts are/were, I am mega skint this week - not even enough money to pay rent! Hope to make up the essential bills over next few weeks, but have a countdown at slimming world so thats already paid for, and desperately don't want to go off track - oh, and of course I want to spend absolute minimum on groceries this week: I was thinking trying to use up store cuboard as much as poss, with a £10 float if I really need any extras.

here is what is in my larder. I would really welcome SW friendly meal suggestions. I'm normally green/ee. :)

Weetabix - a ton of it
oats so simple - quite a lot of that too...
    long life milk carton
    tins of tomatoes x 2
    red kidney beans
    linseed
    creamed coconut
    passatta
    cornflour
    risotto rice
    1 x tin tuna (edible)
2 x tin tuna (manky cheap stuff but would probably cook okay in something)
    sweet & sour mug shot
plain cous cous - enough for 1 meal
    dried plain noodles x 2
    soya mince (dried)
    split peas (dried)
    lasagne sheets

    Frozen peas
    frozen low fat beef mince

    potatoes (approx 1lb)
    onions - lots
    1/2 red cabbage

    Lots of condiments and herbs/spices.

Its only me to feed. Any and ALL suggestions are hugely appreciated!

    :T

Ps I have morrisons, Asda, Sainsburys close by if anyone can suggest mega cheap things from any of those :D
Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels

You have had 1 A and 1 B so don't see why this would not be an EE day. I would certainly count it as one!
