Well I usually have a big salad or loads of veg as a side to my meal but with things like this (sweet and sour pork with special fried rice) it's a bit tricky, I did look for the chinese leaf but thy had none in the Tesco I went to.
I put in loads of onion, peppers, carrots, beanshoots.
I guess once in a while not filling 1/3 of the plate wont hurt, I have cut my portion sizes down anyways.
It was very nice BTW although I ended up using passata instead of tomato puree and an extra bit of cornflour so need to work out the synage.
I have to say that the special fried rice recipie in the 'feed your family for a fiver' book is bloody gorgeous, I've made it twice now.0 -

If you put in loads of onion, peppers, carrots & beanshoots, then that would cover you for the third of a plate of Superfree foods
Passata is syn-free so that's a good move, and cornflour is 1 syn per level teaspoon (according to my old FD)I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
