hello all ......... am thinking of making meragnues (spelling??? weird word) , so would these be syn free if its just egg white and sweetener ? i know the little ones you can buy are synned

Yes, they're syn-free. The recipe I use is this:

MERINGUES – syn-free both days & will keep in airtight tin for week!

    4 Egg Whites
16 tbsp Splenda (allow 4 tbsp per Egg White)

    Preheat oven 110C
Line Baking sheet with non-stick baking paper.
In large bowl (make sure extremely clean and dry, glass or stainless steel best for utensils in this recipe) whisk Egg Whites into soft peaks. Whisk Splenda in a tbsp at a time till stiff then fold in remaining with metal spoon.(When whites become fluffy stop and lift up some mixture, should stand up in stiff pointed peaks, over-beating can lose air so check every few seconds. Too much Splenda added at once will soften whites and prevent crispness etc. Beat mixture together well after each addition but don't over-mix!)
Dab smear of mixture under each corner of baking paper to ensure it sticks to sheet.
Drop spoonfuls spaced apart onto paper using tsp for small or dessertspoon for large meringues!
Bake 90 mins or till dry and lift easily off paper (slow gentle cooking ensures they are light and dry with no stickiness).
    Cool at room temperature.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Went out to the pub last night...ended up having 32.5 syns in total yesterday, which wasn't too bad. So after a couple of glasses of wine last night I'm luckily not feeling hungover but v nibbly...alcohol seems to increase my appetite the next day, hangover or not.

Have just tried the 0% total greek yoghurt with 3 tsps of lemon curd (1.5) really tasty!

Wanted a savory snack too, so had just cooked a handful of the frozen soya beans in the microwave and put a bit of salt and black pepper on, seem to have hit the spot! ( I love the plates of edamame at yo sushi, so it's just like that only they're not in the pods). Hope I lose weight this week!

    Bad day Bad day :o

Was doing well, chicken salad for lunch, mixed salad leaves, baby spinach, toms, cue, boiled egg, pickled onion, fat free dressing all free then spoilt it all by having cheesy coleslaw & garlic flatbread  had a pineapple ring but not counting that. Did resist the potato salad though.
Probably not all that bad really but still could kick myself, I'll be glad when this week is over [*week] and things will settle down I hope. The only blip on the horizen this week is my Birthday and I just MUST have Birthday cake as hubby makes it specially. Rest of week should be fine though.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Moi, never!!:rotfl:

I'd be inclined to use common sense over the issue of the pineapple TakeitEazy, just drain the juice and don't eat it by the tinful. Even better though is fresh pineapple which is free and not expensive at the mo. I just bought 2 reasonably big ones for £1.50 from Morrisons.

Ald1 have pineapplein the super 6 this week....not sure when week ends though....theres grapes too

Anyone know/guess how many syns in a choc cornflake bun with 3 mini eggs on fairy cake sized????

I'm having a bad week, two days i missed lunch and ended up snacking on chocolate and cake and now I am having issues resisting the chocolate urges which have come back, i have succombed to a flake and a half, (12syns?) I can see how easy it is to fall back into my old habits, and for once my normal tactics are not working.. Sending DH to work tomorrow with all the crap food in the house and going to fill up with superfree tomorrow, hoping for a STS on Tuesday, although i fear i will have a gain :( sorry for the moan.
Excited by the meringue receipe thanks Consultant, shall try those out next week!
