OMG just calculate the chapatti - 10 syns !!!!!!!!!! never mind

are poppadums in the micro any better?

Hello Wendy, sorry if someone has already answered this (been offline for 1.5 days :( ) but when I do poppadoms in the microwave I half the syns given for them in the book as they are always cooked in oil in restaurants and takeaways. So we only need to think of the gram flour used in the poppadom, not any oil (well that's how I work it out) :A

Marion's rice is also delicious - have been enjoying the banana version with a sprinkling of cinnamon (please don't tell me that's synful !). I have one question about the rice though - is it just me or does anyone else get a little bit of rice that sticks to the bottom of the saucepan ? I've tried two different saucepans but still a bit of artex rice remains (I am quite embarrassed that I have to admit I can't cook rice:o ) - any solutions as to how to avoid this ?
M x

Cook it in the microwave instead (though I do find pudding rice boils over more than long-grain or basmati rice for some reason, so I stand the bowl in a soup plate) ;)

hello everyone :-) hope you all are okay. I'm sorry to hear about the terrible weather you're experiencing wendyphant ;):D

Had a really terrible SW day yesterday which included 2 () double chocolate chip muffins, milky way crispy rolls, a roast chicken sandwich and a trip to KFC :o

However, today is a new day! I've realised that the only thing that makes me have a bad day SW wise is lack of planning. The old 'failure to prepare is to prepare to fail' saying is soooo true here! What do you guys do when faced with eating in the city center? because the only place I can think of is going to Subway and having a salad, which is pretty dull. How synful are the Boot's meals? for £3 they're alright on the pocket.

I went on friday night, had a great time :D and wondered how many syns were in a 25ml shot of Apple Sourz? It was Cactus Jack's Apple but i'm sure they'll be the same thing/around the same syn value.

I'm also going to pizza hut this week sometime and wanted to know how many syns are in a Chicken Supreme individual pizza (deep pan). I would try and have this and flexi-syn the day, but if it's too much I may just opt for the salad or a pasta. I've got the nutritional info if it's not on syns online: Cals: 610, Fat 23g, Sat Fat 9g, Carbs 70g, Protein 31g.

Here is my menu for today:

Breakfast/Lunch (2PM haha) - banana
Tea: risotto with peas
Pudding: strawberry and grapes in ASDA low fat strawberry yoghurt (1.5)
Snacks - apple, banana

going to have a cheese toastie later for my HeA & HeB, so so far: 1.5 syns.
not felt very hungry today, most likely to do with my mamoth feast yesterday :rotfl:

Don't forget with Boots meal deals you can get a large fruit salad as a 'main' which would be 'free' this is what i tend to try to do if i'm out and get stuck for what to eat! Pizza is devils food!! no idea of the actual syns, but i remember looking it up and one slice seemed to be almost a whole days syns...
I have weigh-in tomorrow, i am a bit nervous as i have had 3, yes 3 takeaways this week!! Have tried to choose 'sensible' options (e.g. chicken kebab on a red day - left the pitta and coleslaw etc to reduce syns) but in reality i know i will be lucky to sts :o So I need to be sensible today! Going to catch up on the thread now!
Good luck this week everyone! And I hope we're all losers this week! :p

Here you go:

Individual Pan Chicken Feast Pizza, sliced into 4, per slice 10 = 40 syns for the whole thing!!!!!!!!

I had a lovely gammon done in the slow cooker, mash and broccoli for tea last night. it was delish.

As the weather was so nice yesterday I decided to get out and dig over the veggie plot ready for planting in the next few weeks. I spent over half an hour over constant digging, then more raking and weeding, so should of burnt off a few calories.

Ive also started making stuff out of Fimo (polymer clay) in the evenings to keep myself busy, this worked great last night as I forgot to go and snack as I was so engrossed in it. Ill be doing this most nights now.

btw if you click on my name and go to my homepage it takes you to my blog with pics of some of the things ive been making. they are not that great but they were my first attempts so im trying to take more time and get better.

Morning all,
I have a quick question - when I made the SW quiche previously I used 3 eggs and a small pot of ff cottage cheese. I have now got the large (500g) pot of cottage cheese so would I double the quantity of eggs ? Sorry if this is a bit daft but 6 eggs seems quite a lot, or should I just use 4 ?

Hope someone can help - back at work tomorrow so looking to prep lots of lunch menus in advance and OH is complaining that I didn't leave him any quiche last time !

BTW, we tried the parma wrapped monkfish last night - I loved it although OH said the preparation was a lot of messing around for someone with large hands. Would have it again but would use cheaper fish - perhaps haddock or even River Cobbler which we discovered recently because it was on offer in asda.
I was going to take over the world but got distracted by something sparkly.......

Had a quick look Nic, you make some lovely things - I just haven't got the patience for much more than nappy cakes and chocolate bouquets (which I give away, of course!). My problem is that I always have to titivate any wrapping I do, adding gems and ribbons etc.

Back on topic, I find when I am feeling picky in the evenings, I can lose a couple of hours playing on the DS - although am getting a wii this week so this may become my newest distraction !:)
