    Just looking for some reassurance (hopefully :o!). I just started SW 2 weeks ago and at the end of my first week (last week), I had lost 5lb - soooo happy. Went for my weigh-in last night and have gained 1.5lb - the consultant reassures me that as it is my star week, this is nothing to worry about but I have turned this over in my head and whilst I could understand that I might not have lost as much as last week, should I not have lost something, rather than gained ????

    I am doing the Extra Easy and really thought I had been good last week - can your star week really make that much difference ?

    Thanks
    M.

    Going to have a bit of a rest day I think today - will still stay under my 15 syns but I've already given in to toast this morning so that's about 12 gone straight away! I think I've been slogging myself too much with the exercise - I need a break!

    Hey BC, I've heard that your star week can make you retain so much water etc, that you can gain up to 4lb!! So don't be too hard on yourself chick.

    BC dont worry about your gain! I can gain up to 4lb on my star week. So don't worry.

    I personally find it easier to have red and EE days on star week as green days make me feel a bit too bloated (esp if i overdo it on pasta and rice!) Drink as much as you can to flush that excess water out of your system and keep up your good work :D
    All hail to the sale!!!!!! :beer:

    where about in Edinburgh are you staying Skint? I've stopped going to classes now (in Fife) as I never had the time to stay but I popped into an Edinburgh class a few times when I couldn't get over the bridge in time!

    Just off the Dalry Road - I think there's one on Georgie Road by Sainsburys (a class). :D

    I know where you are! small world! I drive past there every day - park my car near there which is the other side of town from my work. it's at the street behind sainsbury's, think nearer the aldi? so you up in Edinburgh for long?

    hello all.
    running in to write my food diray and then gonna catch up. gotta be strong this week, so back to food diaries.

    BF: Tea, Apple , Alpen Light (3)

    Snack: 2 Ryvita (2?) with 28g garlic & herb philly (2) & cucumber

    Lunch: wholemewal pitta (HexB) with pork, chicken, onion & pepper & 4 tbsp reggae regga sauce (4) with lettuce, onion, pepper, scallion, cucumber. tin diet coke

    dinner: pork ribs with cabbage, champ & chantennay carrots (allowing 3 syns for butter in mash IF i use it!)

    total of 14 syns.

    any other snacks will be grapes/strawberries/orange/apple/melon/pineapple
    {can u tell I have been shopping today!! lol}

    going back to catch up!! xx

    Edit: back from cathching up....well done to all the losers and SOW's. hugs n kicks up the bum to those who went the wrong way on the scales.
    I went the wrong way at weigh in last night too. 1lb on; but i know why -- i had a Ball with lots of calorific (but lovely) food and alcohol, a McDs last saturday, enchiladas on sunday, steak (fried in oil) and pepper sauce on Monday, and lotsa bread on Tuesday!! I had my star week, so was really comfort eating; as u can tell! so that is also why I havent been on here - i tend to avoid it if i know ive been bad. but its all out of my system now and im back on track today. my diary for today above.

    can anyone tell me about ryvita's = how many for a HexB if u can even have them as a Hex?? I dont have my book to hand, and am waiting on my consulatant replying to my txt about the password as I have completely forgotten it....., Thanks. xx
    Carla-Farla!! :)

    I HAVE to stick to it this week;
    B; bacon & egg, banana
    L; 5 scan bran (HEb) with sm salmon quark pate, clementine
    D; duck in pancakes (I know I know - a weak moment :o) & some SW chips. Can't find syns online for duck so will count it as my whole day's syns & hope for the best!
    Will have my HEa Dairylea as a snack before bed.
    D's; diet coke

    Was meant to be an EE day but not much green/sfree food in there! :o

    Hi everyone, I'm new to the Slimming world thread but have been on MSE for a couple of years. I've got 3 stone to lose and have followed the SW plan in the past. I'm finding my weight lose to be slower this time round, probably because I'm a bit older.
    Hope you don't mind me asking a question straight away.
    I am confused by the syn values for dried foods such as instant potato. In the food directory it says asda minute mash cheese, made up as directed, dried 100g made up 1 syn on green. Does that mean I have to make it up and then weigh out 100g for 1 syn?
    Thanks :)
