  • autumnflower, I agree with SC that sounds like a lot of liquid. I personally wouldn't add any other liquid if you are adding tinned tomatoes. If, at the end of cooking, it is too dry THEN add a little more liquid or your yoghurt. By the way, some dried instant potato would thicken things up if you need a quick fix. My cooking is done in the microwave (=steaming) and I often add a stock cube when cooking vegetables with only a splash of liquid, put on a lid (plate on top of the basin!) and it will ,cook through and have the lovely stock flavour.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

  • hi

I've not been online for a few days but wanted to say thanks for the opinions people gave me regarding their Image Therapy sessions.... it sounds as if they're fairly much of a muchness, so I will stick with my group as the leader is nice.

    thanks again

Made the mushy pea curry this evening so I can have it tomorrow and it tastes pretty good! Tweaked it a bit though...

    1 tin mushy peas
    1 tin chopped tomatoes
    handful chopped mushrooms
    onion
    2 cloves garlic
2 quorn sausages (the chilled type so I could cut them up before I cooked them)
Various spices: Curry powder, cumin, tumeric, chilli, black pepper and tabasco.

I fried off the onion, garlic and spices off in frylight first before adding the rest of the ingredients. It has made a surprising amount actually, will have some tomorrow with rice and fromage frais, then maybe fridge one portion to have on a jacket potato and freeze the rest. I think it'll be much better after it's rested a bit and all the flavours have mixed.

I haven't tried this curry yet (I make a different version) but it is supposed to be very tasty and also thick, so this might be worth trying.

    The one I make uses
    1 tin of tomatoes
about 2 fl oz of stock.
    2 tsp minced garlic,
    1 tsp ginger,
    1 tbs curry powder -
    2 tbs sweetener -
    1 or 2 chopped onions.

Add chicken or quorn, or whatever you want.

You can always add some more liquid, but I haven't found it necessary

When it is cooked take off the heat and add some plain yoghurt and chopped coriander.
