Is the Ryvita part of the deal, or can you have 42g of the cereal alone?

Have I got the syn value of the normal/plain Special K correct at 6.5 syns per 28g?

Also, I wanted to do my own tomato sauce/base for pasta, and my own curry sauce thats made with curry powder. does anyone have some simple recipes for me please?

One last thing, i've got a Sainsburys Tomato and Herb Pasta Sauce 290g and wondered if someone would kindly check the syn value for it please.

    Sorry for the 20 Q's :o:A

These were posted by Consultant 31 -

    Pasta sauce

    onion, chopped
    mushrooms, chopped
    85g bacon, chopped (HEB)
    fry light
    400g can chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp tomato puree (½ syn)
    pinch of mixed herbs
    1 clove garlic, crushed

Stir fry the onions, mushrooms and bacon using the fry light for about 5 minutes until cooked.
Mix together the tomatoes, puree, mixed herbs and garlic, stir mixture into onion , mushroom and bacon.
Heat together until bubbling. Pour over pasta.

1 b choice and half syn on green only

    Syn free curry sauce.

    1 Onion
    2 cloves Garlic
    1 tsp finely grated ginger
1tbsp hot or med curry powder
    400g tin chopped tomatoes
    57ml/2fl oz veg stock
    2 tbspn sweetener
    57g/ 2oz natural yoghurt or Quark/fromage frais
    1 tbspn chopped mint (optional)
    1 tbspn chopped coriander (optional)

Chop onions and crush garlic. Spray frying pan with fry light and place on heat - add onion, garlic, and ginger and fry for 1-2 mins before adding curry powder.
Stir and cook for another couple of mins then add tomatoes, sweetener and stock.
Bring to boil and reduce heat to simmer gently for 12-15 mins.
Then blitz sauce in food processor or with hand blender, and return to heat. Heat gently then add quark/yoghurt/fromage frais and herbs.

This is the best ever curry sauce - add meat or vegetables depending which plan you are following.
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!

Hi all, I'm going to try an EE day tomorrow, can someone give me an idea of the superfree foods please? Many thanks xx

  • good morning Karen : I believe Superfree foods are any that appear on BOTH green and red days - that is, nearly all fruit and vegetables (with peas, parsnips, potatoes for instance not being superfree). Someone more knowledgeable will be along but if you want to get your day started that's a clue!
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
  • hi, i know i asked yesterday, and no one replied - but does anyone know if there are any syns in the fibregel satchet's that you mix with water, to help you GO!!
i have terrible trouble and i eat loads and loads of fruit, etc and plenty of water, so the doctor said i should have one of these every day a well.
i cannot see them being any syns, as all they are is fibre/husks but i don't know.
    hoping some one might know.

Hi all, I'm going for the EE today, am I right in thinking I can have 4 original ryvita with a very small amount of very low fat soft cheese for my a and b?
For tea I'm going to cook a piece of steak, with mushrooms, eggs, beans and mushy peas. Will that be ok or have I got it completely wrong??

    Many thanks xx

karen - I don't even know what it is - who makes it? TBH it's up to you if you count them (I probably wouldn't bother) as I know some ladies in my class choose not to count things like cod liver oil & other medications. It sounds like it can only help you so personaloly I wouldn't worry too much.

Superfree foods on EE - all fruit & veg that are free on both plans - blackberry rum was spot on. Even though quorn & eggs are free on both plans these aren't superfree for the EE plan.

Oh my God, do I have to count cod liver oil? Is there a syn value for it?

Sounds spot on to me but if that's all your having all day then you're not eating enough! Remember to drink lots of water with your ryvita to help them work their fibre magic! (Do check the vlf cheese IS a HEa - not all are)

Don't forget the superfree foods - you're not having any except mushrooms so far!
