Has the locksmith fitted our lock wrong?!

We were advised by the police to change our euro profile cylinder locks for snap-safe ones, and we've had this done this week by a security firm that the police recommended.
We had 2 doors done, on one door the lock is flush with the handle outside but sticks out on the inside of the door. On the other door he's put the lock on the other way round, so the lock sticks out about 8mm on the outside of the door. He said it wasn't a problem, but looking at it I'm not sure - could a burglar pull the lock out?
It didn't seem a big job to put the locks in, could I just unscrew it, take it out myself and put it the right way round?

The lock cannot be taken out unless the door is already open and the retaining screw is removed so dont worry about burglars being able to take it out.

He's used a different length Euro cylinder than the one designed for your door.
It will still work the same it just doesn't look aesthetically pleasing.0 -
You were had. He fitted locks with barrels too long for your door."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Because the barrel lock operating lever is offset from the centre line. They can only go in one way. That is why the second lock which you aren't happy with appears to be the other way round from the first one.

Thanks very much for that, you learn something new every dayI don't really mind about what it looks like, I just wanted to make sure that it was properly secure.

If the barrel is not flush on the outside a smack with a small sledge hammer will break the barrel in two and the door car be opened0

Is the correct answer it should be flush on the outside nore more than 2mm should petrude from the handle or it is at risk and the locksmith who did it is a hurbert first class. he should have known better but was probably another 2 day wonder.
If he had carried the right stock then both inside and outside should be flush I carry around 200 differant sizes in both brass and nickle so I have the right lock for the job. Yours need changing NOW.
