Brilliant progress Maz, he's still a bit on edge but I would expect him to be for at least an hour afterwards.

Sounds like a nice day with Erin. :)

Not had the heating on here either Bookie - but I do have a rather cosy blanket :D

No sunday dinner here today as I really can't be faffed, DD2 is cooking for her and DD1......DH is sat in the kitchen patiently supervising......."so what do you need to cook the vegetables in?" (meaning saucepan)...her reply was "errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....oil..........no, butter, no water!".

Think home economics would be more useful to be compulsory than RE at school :rotfl:

Definitely think Home Ec would be more effective than RE. Can teach simple cooking and budgeting skills...be a lot more use than "Is God real?"

Have just started knitting me jumper, it's weird using such thick wool but I'll get used to it. Am tempted to phone me mum and ask her for her old sewing machine (she doesn't need it, she has a Singer built into a table)

Mmm roast sounds good. Not sure what I'm having, stew probably.

BB, I can't believe the doctors didn't tell you to fast! I usually check with mine that it's not a fasting one, I have to be tested regularly because the meds I'm on can cause diabetes, and there's a very strong family history of it (every generation going back as far as diabetes has been known about has had it). Whenever ex had a go about my weight I just reminded him that my glucose levels are at the low end of normal, my cholesterol's fine, and my blood pressure's on the low side of normal. It's just the rest of my blood that's knackered! I'm sure your results'll be fine, although I can't understand why they didn't just repeat the normal tests properly?!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I kind of agree about home economics, but most of the stuff we did at school was pointless - it was all desserts and cakes and things. And for the crumble, the instructions started with 'open the tin of fruit', because there wasn't enough time in a lesson to make things properly.

I can't believe that RE is compulsory now, especially when a foreign language isn't. Next they'll be saying maths isn't important and bringing in compulsory text talk exams!

    Hows it going Elfen ok?

yes home economics and bugjeting would be better than R.E although ds2 Nathan aged 12 can make a brilliant spag bol and chicken and mushroom soup, and a stunning bacon and eggs (mind you he has had to learn to if theres only us in the house)

He didn't mark the form either where it says 'Fast Y/N' but apparently the scribble he had written above said 'full fasting profile' and I didn't find out until I got there to have the test.

Oh well, I'll take a book - it's a morning off work I suppose and I can stick my tongue out at Cruella if she crawls past

Sally, I was doing my shopping today and it came to £70.....that was meal planned, with no cleaning stuff or any extras....(no bread cos I don't really eat it) I also got a ready cooked chicken for today and ready prepared potatoes and veg...(time is precious on Sunday - don't shoot me), apart from that I had no processed food. I can't imagine trying to feed yourselves - and Bookie - for that matter on what they give you for JSA.

I think many people find it cheaper to go to Iceland and buy a ready prepared carp meal for £1 than cook from scratch.....no wonder obesity levels are as they are...
