I mention CBT because it helped me with anxieties and it's designed to challenge them. However you may find counselling more effective, or other forms of therapy effective. I guess the important thing to remember is that if one doesn't help you should not write off the other approaches.

You should talk to your GP and see what they say. There are some modules on the livinglifetothefull websites which could be worth trying and see if it helps you at all. Tasks or goals may seem daunting but when you speak through it with a trained practitioner you will find it much more realisable.

  • youve done the first step jemma by telling us. that must have been quite hard. :D

    are you in london?
  • I had already gathered there was alot more to this story and I hope you will get to the therapy and begin a recovery towards a much happier life. Counselling via your GP will be a basic way to start the process of talking to someone. I dont think it will deal with things..that will be done in a proper CBT from what I have read of it tonight. It seems you have missed out on alot of love and thats nothing to do with the person you are..its been caused by the problems of others. Its not your fault and you are at the age now where you can help yourself. Go on girl do it! You have absolutely nothing to lose and a fabulous new life to gain. We are all behind you. It wont be easy but see this as a New Year..new challenge..new you. Its your life and you only get one. You can be anything you want to be. This is the start. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
