yep - doctor is your first step. then you will get referred for cbt which could take a while to come through. you have a certain amount of sessions. but if this is not enough DO go back to your gp.
truely, you can get over this or manage it. but i don't think you can do it by yourself.
many many people suffer from this. you'd be suprised
good luck0 -

Yeah, CBT can take a while to come through. If you are honest with your GP though he may prescribe some anti-anxiety medication as a mental crutch to help you through the worst. It can be a big help. The livinglifetothefull website is also recognised by the NHS as a form of guided self-help so is worth a look. I also use phobics-awareness.org (or more specifically the chat room) to get support from others although not as much as I used to.matched betting: £879.63

Well, I was on Citalopram. It really dries your skin and you should take a lot of fluids when you're on it. It also puts you on a little downer before it starts to take effect after 4 or 5 days. However I would take it again despite the side effects (and side effects were short term) as it really helped me at the time to challenge my anxieties. Your GP will go through any side effects really.matched betting: £879.63

If you either phone or go to your surgery, just say you would like to make an appointment to see a GP. They might ask if you want to see any particular GP and if so, say no. Take the first available appointment they offer you with any doctor. They might ask you why you want to see a GP but this will be to determine how urgent it is. Dont go into any details with the surgery staff. Just say you have not been feeling very well for a while. It depends on the number of GP's your surgery has and how busy they are but you should be able to see someone quite soon. If you go to the surgery, ask them to put the appointment date and time on a card for you and you can show this to your stupid job advisor as proof that you are addresing your health problems. In fact, going to the surgery and getting an appointment card is the best way. You have no proof if you just phone. It would be great if you could find the confidence to ask to see another job advisor. The one you have is pathetic. Dont tell your Mum about the appointment. This is something you need to do for yourself.0
