Running for the Number 69 bus? Is that the one that doesn't show for ages, then three come along all at once?? (Innocent big-eyed smile...;);))
Hey everyone, thanks for your good wishes regards my back pains. Yes, it's in the kidney region, ie small of the back, so I'll keep an eye on it.
It absolutely teemed down for about half an hour this morning. I've got a duvet out getting some sun at the moment (I'm at w*** so couldn't rescue it) so guess I'll be looking for a laundrette tomorrow. The dry cleaner charges £10 for a double duvet, isn't that outrageous!
About our sickness policy...they are trying to do away with Friday-itis and Monday-itis - fair enough, though I think that approach is ineffective as the real problems don't go away. Jayarr - I just a lowly office worker and they adore their red tape and rules here. It makes me gnash my teeth! Mind you in my last job I interviewed someone who was out of a job due to redundancy - he was off for so long with a broken leg and this scored naughty points and ultimately his punishment was redundancy...he wanted to go to w*** and was fit for some types of tasks, but his company advised him that there was nothing they could find for him to do and so he had to be off sick and because he was sick for so long he was pushed up the queue to be laid off. Think I would have hauled THEM over the coals!!I'm not terribly interested in doing anything now that I am here, but I'll have to pretend.Bye for now.SnowyOwl0 -
This takes me back - to the very first thread I ever read on Old Style! It was just over a year ago I think, and it was a Saturday, and moggins and somebody else were engaged in a very funny conversation about their pelvic floors ... It had me in hysterics (though not PMSL as I have no kids and therefore my pelvic floor is just fine, thank you very much
) ... and that's when I realised OS was a nice place to be

Oooh, crikey. I go away for a few days, come back and OS is like a different place.
Ausielass, love you avatars. Are they your pets playing sport?
Shez, the chicks are really growing now. Knew you and OH would be keen to know. As my DH says, they won't go vback into an egg now! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Moggins, what's up, hun? Hope you have a better day today. :A
Pink-winged, have a great hols. Camping in France is so realxing, and plenty of good food and wine.
Rzl, still having probs with paragraphs? It was my concert last night. Audience of 80, so pretty good. Westlife went down well, but a few hairy moments in West Side Story. Only piano accompaniement last night, but we're due to redo the Prince Igor at Easter with full Orchestra, alond with Faure Requiem, and Bach Mass.
PP what are you seeing at the pics? Any recommendations, anyone?
rchddap1, how's the pregnancy. I don't envy you in this weather.
All this talk of gussets, my favourite word after wincyette :rotfl: :T :rotfl: :T :rotfl:
DD off to Guides camp and DS off to Scout camp tonight   . This is a big treat for us, as we don't have family nearby to have them overnight. Out to a new Italian in York, tonight, and pictures tomorrow. Has anyone seen "The hand that rocks the barley"? Looks like the only thing we remotely fancy, that we haven't seen.
We'll be dropping some Freecycling on the way to York. Then weekend in the garden, installing wooden lawn edging.
Best bit of news, we're well and truly back on the FLC!! :happyhear We've got the children involved, and spend 30 minutes each evening doing "Fly Baby Challenge" as they call it. It's amazing what a difference it's made. We've done the bathroom, downstairs loo, living room, and I'm trying to get the courage to venture into upstairs loo (used almost exclusively by DS). Thanks, Moggins!
Hugs to everyone else, sorry if I missed you.

PP-Going to see Pirates Of The Carribean (sp?) DD loves Orlando Bloom. Managed to book the disabled seats which have excellent view of the screen so am really pleased:D DD is partially sighted so she will be able to see fine too. Im guessing its going to be busy and woe betide anyone sitting in my seat:eek:
Also, have to buy DD's bestmate a pressy. Disney store has a 50% sale on some stuff ATM and shes mad about eyore:rolleyes: Borrowing FIL's electric scooter, so will be easier for OH not to push me in the chair.

Nice to see you back PenPen ... Yes, my paragraphs are still absent whenever I post from work ... various other users are having the same problem (purpleprincess and VickyA among others) ... None of my formatting buttons work, and I can type a normal-looking message with paragraph breaks and everything, but then when I press "Post" it gets rid of the carriage returns and makes it into one big paragraph ... Glad your choir concert went well ... Where in York is the new restaurant? Of course when I lived in York I didn't eat out much on account of being a poor student, there was one place that did a mean pub lunch though - what was it called? The Judge's Lodgings? Anyway, lovely place with a beer garden and courtyard at the front, between the Lendal Cellars and the library ... Let me know if it's any good, as me and old uni friend keep saying we must pop back up there sometime - it's been years! ... Rzl

rchddap1, how's the pregnancy. I don't envy you in this weather.
What you mean the rain and the cool breeze giving a comfortable temperature? Love it. Now the problem comes when you get to 30+ degrees outside....and 35+ degrees inside a lot of shops. The worst I've come across so far is a boots believe it or not. Got part of the way in...couldn't stand it and came back out again (I start to go all dizzy). Certainly one way of losing customers. My favourite shop is a Thorntons (no not because of the chocolate), but because they have air conditioning at the back. Could stand there for hours in the hot weater.
Other than that I've had no problems so far. I've got those to come....Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
