Evening All
Congrats to Miss P - havnt heard of anyone else getting a level 6!
My DD is leaving primary school also soon, Im ok with it she is totally ready - but it will be a different matter when DS who will be in Yr 3 in Sept leaves.
Am toooo hot. Have done nothing today as been out running errands - thankfully the car has air conditioning since Ive been home ive just had enough energy to cook something on toast for tea and to sit down. So plan of action tomm will be to get up early and do lots before it gets too warm - they are threatening temperatures of 37 wednesday OMG  So dont want to be doing much then.
Well anyway going to go now and sit down further ! Keep Cool0 -
Hi all :hello:
Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days, but I can now breathe for now! I had a lovely time in York at my friend's hen do. One of the other people there works with another of my friends at a publishing house. Quite spooky - and they both went to York Uni, but in different years! (albeit one year apart!)
elona - I waved at Tadcaster as I drove past!
I popped in to see my parents and sort out a couple of things for the wedding! I had to double check with the vicar that my order of service was ok. Alot of people had told me that "Jerusalem" was "normally" the middle hymn if it was used. However, I told the vicar that I wanted to save the best (and my favourite!) until last. He is, luckily, in agreement!
Tomorrow some of the children in the school that have always brought PE kit, their reading books etc are having a special "treat" and are being taken to a park. I'm one of the teachers going with them, so it shouldn't be too stressful as they're all going to be the well behaved ones! Bliss.......
By the way! Congratulations Little Miss Penny Pincher! That's brilliant! What a super star!:T :T :T :T
See you all later

Just wanted to say that the war museum in Manchester was fantastic. Not really interested in war stuff until we went to Normandy a couple of years ago and I was blown away with all the history. We had a great and almost free day today until we called at Cheshire Oaks on the way home and then the chippy after..... Oh well, moneysaving will begin again tomorrow.
Forgot to say many congrats to Miss Penny Pincher!!0 -
Evening all,
Had a full nights sleep last night which I desperatley needed.
I have been on the go since 10am this morning. I have booked and sorted out nan's funeral for monday, registered the death certificate, spoken to the solicitors and ordered the flowers.
Tomorrow I have to sort the food out and put the memorial in the paper, sort out paperwork for thursday, which is the reading of the will.
Got home cooked tea and 2 loads of washing done. Can now finally relax.
Back to work on wedneday then break up for 6 weeks on friday and also going to see The Pet Shop Boys in Thetford forest, cant wait!!!!!0 -
Am I crazy? Despite this soaring heat have just made a batch of welsh cakes and have a bread & butter pud on the go!
Not too sure how the b&b pud will turn out - bread was VERY stale so have soaked it well with egg, milk and butter.
I think that when I put up the boys trampoline I'll need to spend some time on it - if it can bear my weight!January '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far)

Hi! Just back from Wales, had a lovely time, went to two boot sales and quite a few charity shops so lots of bargains! :j including a sheet for the spare bed for 10p, 8 videos for 25p each, a variety of dvds for between £1 and £2 and a fair assortment of tupperware.
Kazonline - I love welshcakes, had a few last week, do you have a good recipe for them, are they difficult to make?
PP - well done to dd for doing so well on her sats!
Have I missed much? will have to go catch up on the weeks daily threads.
Well we are on the countdown (2 days) to dd's op to have her impacted wisdom teeth out. Will have to start stocking up on soft food for her. Poor girl she is not looking forward to this (understandably) fingers crossed all is ok and no complications.
Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

evening everyone.
been a bit poopered today so i've only just summoned up energy to cook and then come on here.
I had a stupidly late night last night as i was working till 11:15, then the cats couldn't make up their mind what they were wanting to do. I was determined i'd finish and i did. No - one else met the deadline, but i did.
i then wouldn't have been too bad, but i woke up after 4 hours sleep with pains in my lower back, and then what with that and the baby moving, that was that. It took me ten minutes to get out of bed this morning. I probably shouldn't have even gone in to work today but only 4 more get ups now. I was ready for collapsing by the time i got in. I think i might have heat exhaustion.
I had a cooling tepid bath, and i think i will be heading to bed soon to see if i can catch up the sleep a bit tonight. i still have 12 lessons to go before the end of the week unfortunately, so i will just have to keep plodding on. I've done hardly anything at work all day today apart from drink water, and try to look busy-ish. If i didn't have year tens still doing coursework i would be so tempted to take the rest of this week off.
And it will only get worse this week. AAAAAH!!
just wanted to say well done mini PP on the level 6. I've only met one kid in my 5 years of being in teaching that got one,and he was a seriously intelligent lad. So she's impressed me.
best go as the laptop is making me even hotter and i am headachey. Will see you all tomorrow if i get time.

Good evening everyone!
Congrats to little Miss Penny-Pincher, she must be such a bright girl PP.
Catznine - welcome back! How many holidays is that this year... two, three?? You related to Judith Chalmers at all:D? Hope all goes well for your daughter's wisdom tooth removal - I am sure it will be fine Catznine, don't worry too much about it.
When it's as hot as it has been today I am worse than useless - it's cooling down a lot now, so will try and get a few chores done -- change the bed + put sheets in w/machine
- wash the car (it doesn't get dark until after 10.00 pm here so feasible)
- pull a few weeds out of the undergrowth that is my garden
- write a shopping list for trek to Sainsbury's after w*** tomorrow
My old style eating plan has been totally up the left recently too. Eg last night for tea I had a bag of "cool" Doritos - that's the big family sized bag, and yes I did get indigestion:o. Tonight's tea was two nectarine muffins as made by my own fair hand. They were a bit of an accident - they were in the freezer, but when I tried to get the lid off the container this morning it would not budge so I left the container out. Now of course I am wishing the lid was super-glued on as the muffins are in serious danger of imminent extinction...I only wanted one but somehow two fell down my neck and now there is one lonely one calling for his friends...
ChaMichelle - I feel terribly sorry for you in this heat, you're obviously having a hard time of it. The summer hols will be here soon, so let's hope you can get a bit of respite from the weather then.
SmashingBlouse...you're off for six weeks??? I am so jealous...
Have a good sleep everyone!

Well done little PP
I ended up getting a takeaway as I forgot to ask DH to put the joint in the oven when I took DD for her vaccination. She screamed blue murder at the time but seems fine now and I did buy her a packet of sweeties for being brave. I'm apparently behind with one other jab and the old boot only wanted to give her the two today. I'd only told DD she was having one and wasn't going to be made out to be a liar and DD never trust me again so I said no, she could have it later.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Thanks for all the lovely posts:D
I wasnt expecting her to get such high marks TBH. She got the level 6 in science, but am going to ask her teacher as I thought they had to sit seperate exams for the level 6There were 3 others that had hit level 6 and one of them got 3:eek:  Maybe it was a typo...but either way she did her best and she did well. I dont think of her as being intelligent:o ....just Charlie! She knows exactly what she wants to study etc and this has stayed the same for the past 4/5years (6years old). I think this has driven her to do well and we have always been positive academically and have probably been hard with her at times:rolleyes:...but what parent hasnt?
Even if she would have been ungraded we would have been happy as long as she did her best;)
Anyway, Id better go to bed as Im the only one downstairs and the lift is al ready for me to go up on.
See ya in the morning.
Hugs
PP
