Finally, I cannot cope with wet washing on every surface. My family is too big and too dirty to manage without Ive had to take a load of jeans pants & socks to MIL tonight, and I now view a new dryer as an essential item. So i'm taking money out of debt busting fund and will be buying one this weekend.

So an expensive start to 2010 with no end in sight just yet, grrrr cgx

Sorry, I know I am late to this! *waves* - just wanted to say that I have had a tumble drier for most of my married life until last April when it gave up the ghost which co-incided with DH getting made redundant so it no longer became a priority.

Anyway my mum gave me a clothes airer thing, that I can fit 20 large items on. I moved it upstairs to the bedroom (south facing) and everything is dry within 24 hours, so as long as I keep up to date and do a wash every day, I can honestly say I haven't missed my tumble drier. (apart from for towels, I do miss my fluffy towels)

And, electric company have changed my direct debit from £55 to £32 without me asking based on usage, so it must be because of that
    Start Date: 27/11/2010
    Padding: Day 42
    Target £8000
    Amount: £562.23
  • I don't have a TD and although on weekends like this when I've had ton's of washing (lots of snow and many changes of wet clothing for DS's) its gets a little frustrating it doesn't generally bother me.

  • Hi Intergalactic Floozie! (What a fab name :T)

Got to say I love my tumble dryer :D Ive got all my holiday washing done and dried in record time just needs ironing now - hmm maybe not such a good thing lol!

I do take your point about the electric though, and I only use the dryer when I can't hang washing out to dry on the line. Funnily enough I have mentioned a clothes airer to OH recently. I hang shirts up to dry on the door frame in the spare room but this scuffs the paintwork - not a prob at the moment but OH has got the decorating bug and wants to paint spare room next month so I suggested an airer or one of those portable clothes rails - he wasn't too impressed but if it saves us on the electric it will be worth a shot

ttfn cgx (ps ibuprofen & co-codamol working a treat )

  • Hello,
so whats new? Toothache - still here but manageable, the new crown was dodgy - well derrrr! I could have told him that when he tried ramming the stupid too big tooth in my mouth! So, its been drilled and ive had a dressing in there all week because its inflamed and I need a root canal now. good news is, hes not charging me anything as its classed as part of the original treatment so I go tomorrow morning for root canal doing and then will need a new crown- thats something to look forward to!:(

Cars, it was my cars turn to get a puncture today, but I took it in and it was repairable so a mere £20 from the car fund

OH car insurance, I was dreading this following OH 2 month driving ban last year for speeding, but I got it for £585, with a free MOT and £42.50 cashback from Quidco - much better than expected, but ive had to put the payments on monthly as I dont have this much spare anywhere.

MSing, not done any, not even been looking, ive felt really tired all this week, very lethargic - a new bug doing the rounds maybe? - but must try harder for March Same goes for e-bay - got loads to sell but cant seem to muster up the enthusiasm

On a plus Ive transferred Tesco and Asda1 balances to my new RBS 0%card so am waiting for them to register before I update my signature

Finally, an update on our new bed/bedroom - loving it loving it loving it :j what a difference a new bed makes - worth every penny and a pitch black bedroom (thanks to my wonderful new curtains) means we have never slept so well! Can't wait to get to bed - don't let OH hear mesay that :rotfl:- but perhaps this is why we are both so tired - catching up on 13years of poor sleep lol! ttfn cgx
