Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

And there are disabled who are also struggling and many on benefits. I know country cant afford to pay everyone but if you have certain disabilities then being cold can you make you worse. They should be some provision where they may get help doesn't mean all disabled should and neither should it apply to those pensioners who have lots of money in the bank, its should be only for those in need, thats surely what benefits are for

Why should some people on benefits get extra payments for fuel while people who are on benefits because they are ill don't?? It doesn't make sense.
I am sick of all these griping, jealous, 'disgruntled taxpayers' who whine and whinge about how 'greedy' people on benefits are.
If you see yourself as having disabilities but struggling to work then bully for you!
Why don't you have a think about the huge amounts of 'taxpayers money' being spent on war, dodgy politicians and the inflated salaries of the criminal mismanagers of the NHS instead of turning your ignorance on those scrabbling to live on relative pittances???

Which is what the £25 weekly cold weather payments are for - for those disabled & pensioners, or for people with disabled children and on a low income.

Right, weekly £25 payments in cold weather. Do you know how much heat those cover for me? Three days at most. Nowhere near a week.
Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?

And do you really think this bitter post against quite frankly the hand that feeds you (aka the taxpayers) will do your cause any good at all? Many many posters on here do sound greedy and jealous but they are the ones who think they have a divine right to the WFP despite the help thay receive via DLA.

Of course, no disabled people work and they never have done.

Both of my parents are disabled and work full time. The only reason why dad stoppped working for a few months was because he got told it wasn't safe for him to do so.

DLA doesn't go far. How hard is that to understand?

We're NOT "greedy" or "jealous". Most of us do need the WFP to help pay for extra heating.
