For any one living in the Dundee area Good Health and Fitness (I can't post links yet!) are giving you one week free membership to their Personal Training and Nutrition Gym. One session of Personal Training is worth £35 so its worth it for that alone.0

I've just entered into a 3 month membership with Nuffield Health in Nuneaton. I would always recommend trialing your chosen gym out first, Nuneaton Nuffield offered me a free day pass to make use of all of the facilities to see how I would get on. Loved it, and because I signed-up there and then that day they gave me some vouchers to spend in their relaxation department too! :j
My friend also got a corporate discount on her 12 month membership simply by working for one of their approved corporate links.
If you don't ask, you don't get!!0 -

I did a free trial at Fitness First in Manchester. I didn't really like the gym, but the thing I found most offputting was being harangued for weeks afterwards with phonecalls. Be prepared.0

There is a free Esporta 14 day trial gym pass available supposedly worth £100 for an individual or family of up to four. Most of the Esporta clubs seem to be participating.esporta.com/thetimes.Once you register your details someone at Esporta is supposed to come back to you within 48 hrs (I registered today as soon as the offer came out!)I am waiting on the call. When I have given it a go I will add to the discussion board about the amount of hard selling you have to put up with prior to,at the gym itself and post-trial.0

There are a lot of these no frill type gyms popping up.
I joined one when it was new - and although you expect it to be busy on occasion it is a bit silly. The most annoying thing is that they run classes but dont have seperate rooms for them, they just take up streteching space in the normal gym.
I tend to go after 9pm now. Wouldnt consider going 6-8pm now unless I had no choice.0 -

I would agree with the time thing, I have been to more gyms then I can count on two hands...I have in each found that from around 5pm to 8.30pm the gyms are so busy that its not rare to have to queue for a machine...behind another two or more people in some gyms! When you think your paying £xx and queuing to do something which for many is not that comfortable, (pays off in time but the experience for most of us isn't that fantastic!) it just sounds beyond a joke. But fact is I now activly avoid certain branches of my gym week days at peak time as a result. Often escaping to a class can be the answer as there are health and safty rules: they cannot over book.
Weekends and 9-11am or 2-5pm on week days can also be empty gym times if you do get odd the day off to do this. Half term seems to have fewer people using the gym at all times too even if the gym isn't a family gym.0 -
Any ideas when David LLoyd are doing there free 5 day pass thing again? Was great last winter.
Any other freebies in the Solihull area would be appreciated too if anyone has any inof. Thanks.0 -
Warner Hotels are doing a 5 day free trial, then £55 per month single, £85 family. As the hotels are adults only, they guarantee no one under 21, and things like archery/shooting are apparently also included. We are taking the free trial this weekend - pool, solarium, classes etc - I did not get the impression that the price was negotiable - has anyone dealt with them before?0
