Parcel2go.com Loss claim problems

Just tto update on my previous post regarding P2Go, I took them to the small claims court. Initially they indicated they would be defending the claim. Then one day they rung out of the blue offering to settle in full immediately. Clearly somebody with some common sense took over the case. I still haven't used them since though.0

i ordered a courier for my parcel 22nd jan. after contacting p2g several times I found the parcel was damaged. I was told the parcel would be returned to me the next day. It wasn't. I contacted via live chat around 10 times getting no where.
I left a review on a website- not sure which- and got a response from pete chandler who said he would investigate- NOTHING- I went on live chat again to complain and managed to get a phonecall back from Sarah a team leader and was told the parcel would be with me tomorrow. its now 10th march, still no parcel, and no refund, although i have had a refund of my delivery costs.
i have emailed l march, and g iverson also and heard nothing back.
Appalling service- DO NOT USE PARCEL 2 GO0 -
Parcel 2 go are really good if u don't encounter any problems.
If u do its really difficult to contact them, claim the whole amount back u paid or get any satisfactory answers, best to avoid all together
I put a claim and under duress accepted a cheque for half the value of the goods, the live chat girl called Jo then asked for my bank account number and sort code, which I questioned. She stated they needed them to write on the cheque, I refused to give them and told her to check with a supervisor. She came back and apologised as they were not required. Was this a genuine mistake or a fraud attempt? I got the conversation emailed to me and the address it came from was not parcel2go, therefore I really think my bank account would have been emptied had I given the details accross.

I purchased 2 chandeliers from eBay & used parcels2go to collect them via city link, BIG MISTAKE ! They lost one, they have offered me £38.18 for a chandelier that has cost me £176 from bhs to replace.
I am now going to submit a small claims action but they won't give me their full details.
Does anybody know them?
Has anybody had any success in claiming?
This is so frustrating & I will never use them again, so be aware everyone.0 -
I had one loss with them and they offered me credit too. I accepted as i used them a lot at the time.
Then some bright spark there reduced compo cover to £20 - so i stopped using them and started using Hermes/Collect plus directly and Interparcel for larger items.
£20 cover for a large parcel? I get that much cover free off Royal Mail if i send a large letter costing £1.25 ish to post (and until recently was £50 ish cover).0 -
Hi everyone!
After reading these notes from everyone I really don't know how they can justify themselves as a business!
My problems with them...
I sent 2 parcels via the new In Post locker system because it seemed very straight forward, think again. One parcel basically on tracking still says to this day it's at the depot when it should have been delivered on 8th July. I spoke to many different people on live chat who said the same thing over and over again, they'll contact the courier city link. City link then replied to the week last Friday saying they were sending it back to me?!!! Why?! So if they did actually have the parcel why send it to me and not my buyer.
Spoke to a woman last weekend who said I should get the parcel by Friday, 2 days ago I still haven't got it. Just spoken to live chat again who said they contact city link again within 2 days. More time wasting...
My second parcel, well. Everything seemed fine tracked it to the correct house can see the time and day and signature, very good! No... My buyer contacted me the day after the 'delivery' to say she had been posted through the letterbox two packets of seeds.. And not a 4kg parcel of magazines! Contacted parcel2go spoke to city link again and said they would deliver the correct parcel to my buyer. That was over a week nearly 2 weeks ago, still no answers as to where my parcel is.
Getting sick of contacting them everyday to here nothing but automated bulls***t explanations and not doing anything about it.
Any advice would be grateful.

I very recently made a switch to Parcel2Go from Interparcel mainly due to P2G's nice integration with eBay which means I don't have to type in the buyer address details and the tracking number gets automatically uploaded back to eBay. It's a nice feature and I can only hope the other firms do something similar soon as I will miss it.
From today I will stop using P2G completely, not just because of what I have read here, but mainly because of the exorbitant costs of insuring the item to be sent which is 5% as opposed to the 2% of Interparcel for the exact same delivery services. Also to bear in mind is that P2G's compensation included in the initial base price is only £20 for all the main couriers (e.g. UPS, FedEx, TNT, etc.) whereas with Interparcel for those companies it's £50 (not Hermes, Yodel, Collect + for either company). see P2G's terrible rates at their help page under: "Pricing Enquiry", then "Will there be any compensation cover applied to my order?" and then clicking the "I would like to know how this is calculated" link.
I had recently sold a £235 item on ebay which included Free P&P. P2G's delivery cost showed at £10.49 (+VAT) with UPS standard service. Fine I thought, same as Interparcel for those dimensions and weight. I assumed the rest of P2G would be the same, however, the compensation/insurance cost process is not and is designed to be completely unfair at over twice the price of other broker courier firms (plus the problems of getting compensation out of them if the item does go missing or is damaged!).
With P2G's automated import of the eBay item details, the selling price of £235 (with free P&P) of my item is automatically used to base the compensation value on. However, there is no way for me to adjust this to either a price without the cost of the P&P, nor indeed to a price that the product I sold may have cost me (i.e replacement value or value I'd be willing to accept).
Also, as my selling price included free P&P, I shouldn't be needing to insure the cost of the P&P as well! - if they lose/damage the parcel then the P&P cost should be automatically be refunded no matter what. So the "value" they use to quote from should not be based on the inclusive P&P, nor the full "retail" price it sold for, nor the price before eBay and PayPal take their commissions of what adds up to a further 13.5% of that selling value (£31.69 in my £235 example).
With the compensation cost for my parcel showing at a further £11.25 (+ VAT), the total cost of sending was coming out at £26.08, I checked later via Interparcel and the cost would have been just £18.58 for the exact same UPS service and compensation cover of up to £250 in total value.
At the time of purchasing with P2G, shocked at the price of the compensation cover I opted to not select it (that is all you can do, it cannot be adjusted to your liking). I assumed I would get the base £50 cover should the relatively large parcel go missing (I wasn't worried about damage as that would have been quite difficult for the item concerned). £50 was fair compromise I thought, in the unlikely even my parcel would go missing, £50 would do and I'd personally cover the discrepancy.
However, I was wrong, not only do I later find out that P2G's base compensation is set to £20, but by deselecting the full compensation value on the delivery order page and only paying the base price of £10.45 + VAT, I had unwittingly reduced my base cover to £10, a matter they informed me of later of by email offering me a chance to add insurance cover should I desire, informing me it was not too late to add it. I declined the offer to be taken for a ride and took the risk. The parcel did arrive at it's destination via UPS safe and sound and I saved £13.50 in P2G compensation fees.
At that rate of savings, I have calculated if I just made £25 profit on each item sold at £235, if more than about 1 parcel in 7 went missing then the compensation/insurance would be worth it (except for the additional hassle of claiming and the unlikely event of them actually paying up!).
As you are probably aware, the actual rate of losing/damaging parcels is nowhere near as many as 1 in 7 for any delivery services, so even Interparcel's 2% compensation cost (adjustable according to "value" not selling price) is still potentially expensive, but Parcel2Go's rate is extortionate in comparison, add in P2G's complete inability to adapt to true cost value and remove inclusive P&P costs, the reduced base compensation price (and much tighter restrictions on what can be sent) then its service is a complete no-no for me.
I am about to completely remove my account with P2G. I can find elsewhere better, cheaper, fairer courier broker services that use the exact same couriers and delivery services.0 -
Has anyone put in a claim against p2g at small claims? Do you have contact address details for this?
A common theme it seems, but they have broken a chopping board that was in original sealed packaging because apparently interior packaging was inadequate.
The have no contact details on the web and no email contacts. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks.0 -
Claimed for compensation last month. Had 2 replies rejecting my claim for different reasons but offering a 'goodwill gesture' for £20?!? Sent replies to each refuting the claims and finally sent one asking for full compensation or i would be asking my Credit card company to take the claim further.
They have now offered to refund (almost) the full cost of compensation and the cost of delivery!
Would recommend going down the credit card route rather than small claims due to the hassle involved0 -
DO NOT USE PARCELS TO GO! I Have had two parcels lost in a month costing me 500 quid and it takes them over two weeks to tell you that they cannot find it, by this time the buyer has claimed their money back. I am now waiting for negative feedback due to their incompetence. They do nothing to track your parcel and their tracking numbers are a waste of time.
Pay a few quid more save yourself the headache and be covered. I cannot stress how difficult it is when a parcel goes missing using parcels to go. One thing they do is tell the companies not to discuss a case with the sender you have to go through parcels to go who do nothing. I am tottaly out of pocket, my time is wasted and my reputation tarnidhed becasue of them, BE WARNED0
