  • Hi Guys

Had a moment this morning with EON. They had decided to up my dd from £147 a month to £215 ! To cut a long story short I rang twice and managed to get down to £167 a month. So panic over ish

I have changed once before. She told me that my tarrif is as follows:

Gas 6.214 (primary) - first 2680 units per year
    3.245 (secondary

    Elec 20.28 (primary) - first 900 units
    9.63 (secondary)

This is an online tarriff. Does anyone know if this is a good deal ?

Also I have them coming out to quote for cavity & loft insulation. Can you use any company for this. The quotes will have to be pretty low for us to be able to afford this. Although I realise that this will save money in the long term. Has anyone got any experience of this ?

I have continued to do clicks etc. I have also cashed my premium bonds in - not alot of money but it all helps. My diary is up to date. This is great it really makes me focus and think. DH seems to be a bit more on board now. (Fingers crossed).

We had a tooth fairy visit last night so that was an unexpected £1 !!!

I have registered to become a product tester with Asda and ordered a free sample of Dove.

My Amazon credit card has been approved so I will shortly have a free £15 to spend on Amazon. (providing I use the card once). So I plan to buy the Jamie Olivers Ministry of Food. I am going to try my best to cook from scratch etc.

I have a big meeting looming, which I am very nervous about. just praying that I don't have to pay any more £££££'s out. I've done all the prep for it.

Feeling very stressed at the moment. I also have some overtime on the way.

I have organised a cash box. I take so much money out a week in cash. This covers dd's activities, shopping etc. Anything left at the end of the week is a huge bonus !

After I have sorted the electricity out I intend to look at the house insurance. Then look into mystery shopping, surveys and bingo. There are not enough hours in the day!!

There are some good books recommended on various forums. So rather than frittering money away I will join the library and see if I can get them from there.

I also need to go through the cashback sites and look at any new "no purchase offers"

OMG it's so difficult not to turn to chocolate when your stressed and tired !!

Any help, advise or support would be greatly appreciated. I know i've rambled on alot !!!:rotfl:

    Hi yummymommy,

Sorry to hear that your Direct Debit was increased so dramatically, I can see why this would have come as such a shock:eek:. Did the explanation for the increase you received make sense? I hope that it did. If you have any unanswered questions send them my way and I’ll do what I can to help.

Normally an increase at this time of the year is a result of Direct Debit payments being a little to low over the earlier part of the year, the increase will probably be to balance the underpayments out and ensure you have a ‘zero’ balance come your spring bill.

It is E.ON Direct Debit policy for all our customers paying by Direct Debit to achieve a ‘zero’ balance in the spring.

Your unit rates may be for the FixOnline tariff or the SaveOnline tariff, if you post the first half of your post code I can find out for you. :)

I’m here to help yummymommy so if I can help in anyway, give me a shout! :T

    Hi yummymummy, :hello:

The unit rates are our standard gas and electricity unit rates excluding VAT. I am unable to be sure whether or not your tariff is the FixOnline or the SaveOnline without seeing your account.

This is because the two tariffs have the same unit price but have differing discounts and terms, this is what differentiates them from one another.

If you can send the rest of your post code and house number to the same email address, I'll be able to clarify this for you. :)

Sorry to mess you about. :o

    Hi yummymommy, :hello:

The tariff is EnergyOnline; this is an older tariff that is no longer available for signing up to. You are okay on this tariff, however there are better tariffs available now.

More importantly the FixOnline online tariff I mentioned earlier is far more competitive, although it does have certain terms that differ to the old EnergyOnline tariffs.

Better tariff means lower annual bills so hopefully we can arrange something to help with your Direct Debit amount. :)

The FixOnline tariff is a contract tariff so you do have to agree to the prices and discounts for an agreed period, March 2011, any cancellation to this tariff could then incur a fee of £30. This tariff also doesn’t offer the Tesco points that other tariffs we have do offer. :(

The more positive side of this cancellation fee is looking at your individual circumstances the saving you’ll make certainly outweighs this £30 charge if you every do decide to move supplier or change tariff.

It’s also going to be worth your while checking the individual comparison websites to find the best tariff for your needs, I can help you get the best with us, but another supplier may be your preferred choice.

We can talk further and hopefully make some positive steps to help your situation. :money:

  • Hi Brian

Thank you:beer: I would love to talk more to get the best tarrif. :T:T:T

The Tesco points aren't as important to me as lowering my bill and being more energy efficient.
