Slung all kinds in the SC, fried bits of bacon and onion, sliced mushrooms.garlic, gravy, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, leeks and potatoes. It will either work or fail.
Probably end up eating it in the middle of the night:pbut I will be awake a while yet catching up on the few TV programmes I watch.
It was ready in 3 hours...so not too bad..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Bacon, potatoes, courgette, frozen peppers and onions with passata and a little bit of water...all cooked for 4 hours then wizzed with the hand blender to make the nicest soup I have had in some time.
Only bought the slow cooker this week and already in love. Best of all - being on slimming world it was syn free (means I can eat as much as I like)0 -

Morrocan chicken in mine - 4 chicken fillets cut into slices, chickpeas, stock, onion finely chopped and fried off with some morrocan seasoning and some chopped corriander. Will serve with some cous cous (thanks to Approved foods)Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Hey, Im after some advice from you SC pros
Im not sure if Im posting in the right place, but figured you may be able to help... but direct me elsewhere if appropriate!
I have an SC which I have used lots, but Im finding if I make anything like soup, stew, chilli etc...anything in liquid - that when I get home its very overcooked. You could almost say that its burnt, without actually being charred... Just overcooked and tastes awful sometimes.
Ive checked the booklet, and it has LOW, HIGH and Auto settings and the book advises auto is the best setting for leaving meals to cook all day etc. and should be able to leave meals on for 18 hours. If I left it 18 hours I think it would be black and charred!
So I suspect perhaps Im not putting enough liquid in, or doing something else obvious wrong? Ive follwed the recipes and tried experimenting but dont seem to be able to get it right!
Any suggestions?
