My pork and peppers combo yesterday looked and smelled great but had no taste at all. Don't know what I did wrong - going to have to watch my friend make it to find out what works. Today is beef casserole. I've wrapped a couple of large potatoes in foil and they're cooking with it.

Fry chopped onions and mince in pan on hob. Cut up carots and potatoes in tiny pieces and put in slow cooker. Add cooked hot onions and mince and then add gravy granuals and boiled water from the kettle. Add pepper/ garlic if you want, mix around and cook on low for about 9 hrs overnight. Take out in the morning, cool down and put pot in fridge. Take out when you're ready to eat, put in in a cottage pie style dish. Do some mash potatoes either Smash, frozen potatoes or cut up real potatoes (boil and mash up). Heat up mince mixture in microwave. Add mash potato on top and smooth it out and then put under hot grill.

Cottage pie - enjoy !!

Pork and leek sausages with chopped onions and leeks with a packet of leek and mustard sausage casserole mix. I added extra stock cube, some white wine and mustard as I had too many sausages.
    Fingers crossed

Hi Richj-I'm going to freeze the remainder of it minus the bones I think.

I'm doing the whole chicken as well, together with 2 breast fillets as one chicken won't be enough for us. I've just read the 'Slow cooker quick questions' thread which has a whole section on roast chicken and there are some very mixed reviews. I'm just stuffing it with a lemon and adding a cup of stock and hoping for the best. PS my beef stew last night was to die for but I won't be doing the baked potatoes in foil alongside meat again - the spuds were like poached eggs ie wet and yellow!
