I wondered about this too but stumbled on the instructions for mine and it said to never use it in the oven so I wouldn't risk it.

    HTH

OK, maybe not in the oven, but what about under the grill for just as long as it takes to brown eg a potato topping?

I popped my slow cooker on before I went to work today and came home to a delicious rice pudding. It tasted just like the ones my mum used to make when I was a child. :)

Oooohh, do you have a recipe?
  • Owl, just had to say, I love your signature, I just wish some teachers at my DS's school felt the same about their role - some seem to think it's about binding their wings up like Chinese women used to have their feet bound. Sorry, I know it's not relevant to this post.

    Oh no!

    How old was it?

Could you have given it a bang when you last used/washed it that maybe weakened the pot?

Was it in use at the time?

Kazmc - there was a thread for reduced slow cookers on the grabbit board.

In my slow cooker (for (4 hours longer than planned due to someone being late!!!) is lamb shank sealed with meat, with red wine, veg stock, crushed garlic, rosemary and thyme.
    Bump due 22nd September
  • Today I had a whole Chicken in my SC all day.

Now its got the juices, bones, chopped carrot parsnip & leek with additional water. To make stock for Risotto!

Today my SC made a lovely meatloaf with hidden boiled eggs in it. It was a change of plan as initially I meant to make a large quantity of bolognese for a lasagna. It worked out very well as we had an incredibly busy day, and we'll have another one of those tomorrow, so the other half of the meatloaf is tomorrow's cold supper already made. I do love my SC.

sounds yummy :) do you have a recipe please :D
One day I will live in a cabin in the woods
