The butcher had given me all the innards. I had the wind pipe, the heart, lungs, and stomach. Everything was still attached. I began cutting with my poultry scissors and separated the organs. I got to work on what I thought was the stomach, but it ended up being a lung. And then I realized that what was probably the stomach was this green slimy pouch that I had already thrown away.
And I got weirded out.
I wrapped everything in a bunch of plastic and threw it away in the outdoor bin.

makes it sound quite tasty.

A first attepmt at tomato and red pepper soup in mine through the night! Smells great but totally had to adapt the recipe (it was originally for on the hob/stove top and had waaaaaaaaaaaay too much liquid for the slow cooker). I decided to double the quantities so that I could freeze some but there was a tad too much to fit in the slow cooker so it may have ended up as a total disaster :rotfl:ach well no matter it will still be eatenEmma

Hello, Does anyone know if you can put dry pasta into a slow cooker - Im thinking of making a bolognese before work one day this week and then maybe adding extra stock and just putting dry fusilli or something similar in with it, hoping that when I get home would all be ready to eat - not sure if would go too soggy though? anyone tried this/any advice always welcome
Thank you0 -

I`m cooking one overnight tonight, it will be on for about 8 hours on low. It only weighs 1.4kg though so maybe 10 hours on low for yours?
I find that it dosen`t matter too much if its in longer than it needs to be and just shove most things in overnight and its ready whenever i wake up.

Today i have a beef casserole in mine. a few diced potatoes,swede,peas,mushrooms,carrots,2 and a bit onions,1 litre beef stock cube and diced beef.
I think next time i make this i will save time and buy diced beef and prep the veg the night before as it has taken me over an hour to prepare this am.

btw I will be cooking future chickens in my s/c from now on as the one i done 2 days ago just fell off the bone, absolutley delicious and soft.0 -
Today I have a bone-in chicken breast portion (the last portion from the freezer from the whole chicken I hacked up!) with a tiny drop of water.
I'm going to strip some meat off and fry with the tub of cooked rice from my freezer tonight, then chuck the rest of meat/carcasse back in with some pearl barley, stock cube and veg overnight so I have nice chicken broth for lunch tomorrow.
makemedebtfreeplease - I don't think pasta does very well in SC, will end up like mush. I would just spend the extra 15 mins cooking it in a sperate pan if I were you.
