Using about 13kwh per day in electric. Can't check gas, as the meter only shows electric.

These figures are the averages based on our last quarterly bill:

    10kw/h per day for electric.

24.2 kw/h per day for gas.

The gas would certainly have been higher but for the very mild November.

Just checked my gas meter last night and I have used 6 metric units in a week which is great :). For electric I have used 31 units in a week (about 4.5Khw per day) so not too bad. I stay on my own and work during the day and I'm a tight git with my heating:rotfl:.

I got a new combi boiler installed just before xmas which looks like its saving me money as 6 units in a week is not much, I think that works out at about 10Khw per day :)

Well I received my bill today £58 for last 3 months of gas, I checked the meter and the estimation was just 1 unit out, I havent used tons of gas far less than many people on this site but the bill for the amount I used is way below what I was expecting. I am now considering contacting them regarding the very high bill I had 2 years back on an older meter (which they replaced after querying high bills) as I wonder if that meter was faulty. However considering they did write of a £1200 electric bill a few months back I am leaning towards letting it drop.

My average electric usage has jumped tho, the few times I have checked daily usage it was only 8 units, previous average been 9 units up to oct 2009 however between then and now my average across the 3 months is 11 units a day. So maybe the days I used my electric heater did use a LOT of electric and also my central heating using electric to pump hot water around. It should all settle down now hopefully since I am not using any heating now except for water.

gas usage was 114 units for 3 and half months.

impressive usage, although I do wonder how long it takes for a boiler to pay back, how much did your boiler set you back?

It cost £2500 for a wocester 30cdi combi. It probably wont ever pay back what I paid for it but I had to get a new one as the old one was on its last legs :(. Combi is great for me as i stay on my own. With my old boiler it heated a full tank of water at a time and was a waste, now with the combi it just heats what I use at the time :)
  • Just checked BG Online Saver & Energy Smart:

    01/01 to date:

£2 per day electric average (23kwh) DD set at £90

£4 a day gas (123 kwh) not too bothered as heat will go off altogether in April and we will catch up as DD is £70 pm

I cant see how we spend so much electric. I can't find anything else to cut back on. Dryer is used once or twice a week MAX at the moment for towels and bedding. No electric heaters on anymore, about 30 mins a day in shower between 3 of us and cooking in a halogen oven instead of the full electric oven. How can people on here with families and home all day etc etc only be using £1 odd a day?

If you are using Energy Smart, why do you have set DD's. I use ES and pay by variable DD. I just pay for what I use.
  • Because hansi, I would be paying a massive bill in winter and tiny in summer, this way I can split it over the year
