She's already got an esaver so sounds like a plan to me.

    Thanks folks.

If you have 11K in an esaver - why not open 2 more vantage accounts (with say 5K & 6K) - you can then get 4% on all your money and do the £1k shuffle A>B>C>A each month to meet the monthly £1000 through the account, requirement. :)
    :(

This is all getting a bit much. Thank you for the suggestion but in the posts below people are saying that the bank has stopped allowing the upgrade to Vantage. It was another person who suggested I open an Esaver for transferring the £1k but this a/c
has very low rates under £10k. Must calm down, I need a quiet life!. I blame Egg for taking my bonus away;)

Well, I cant understand how people have managed to get so many accounts with Vantage. Every time Ive tried more than 2 Ive been told to go to the bank - which I did for the third and after that each time it tells me Im not eligible. I even tried opening accounts in my OH's name and they have been refused today too.

My mind is beginning to boggle.....!!!!

Have you guys seen the following?

Go to Quidco: Santander gives a £35 Cashback to a registered Quidco user who links through and opens a Santander Current Account.

For a succesful current account application, Santander gives the new Current Account Holder £100.
    They say:
It pays to switch to Santander

Switch your main current account to Santander using our dedicated Account Transfer Service, pay in at least £1,000 a month and we'll give you £100 as well as 5% AER (fixed) for 12 months on the first £2,500 of your balance.

The problem word is 'main'. ie 'main current account.

    Hmmm?

Now how many Classic Vantage accounts did we have in total?

Hi -was me who suggested the e-saver -not for holding any money (£1 maybe) - but just to enable you to shuffle £1000 out from the Vantage & Back - assuming you only had £7000 available.

As you have £17000 - 3 X vantage accounts would be much better, and is definitely still available. The quickest way to open them is to go into a branch and ask them to set them up. They will be available for you to use by the time you get home :)

    Tenth Anniversary
Opened a Classic online for both me and OH a couple of weeks ago. It immediately offered an upgrade to Vantage without having to go through drop down boxes or anything.

Been trying since to open additional account online, but kept getting a message to go to the branch.

Had a appointment tonight and managed to open two additional accounts each which were showing online by the time we got home.

Managed to set up SO's between the accounts for me, but got a message for OH saying to contact them for security reasons and it wouldn't do it. Will try again tomorrow and if we still can't do it will have to phone.

Problem is that OH doesn't do phone calls and they won't discuss the account with me.
