I got £20-52 in January but I was a couple of bob over £7k because I had a largeish D.D. going out on the 7th of December (Monday) and I didn't want to drop below £7k so I funded it on the previous Friday.

I have applied for another classic account and it was set up today. However if I want to add advantage to the account I have to now upgrade to a silver account. I wandering if anyone else has found this.

I went into a Lloyds branch yesterday and were able to add advantage to my classic account. I advised if I wanted to do this via internet banking I would need to upgrade to a silver account. However looked bemused and said this was definately not the case.

Have you tried the on line method I posted? (see #176 on page 9)

Is there a way to have the interest paid to a different account, or anything over 7k?

You know what interest to expect so set up a standing order for roughly that amount each month.

    Ha Ha Ha! :)

    No conspiracy!

Opened said new Classic Account with new NIL balance, moved to Transfers and Payments section tab. Clicked on Help
    You asked us:

    How do I get Vantage?

    Our answer is:
To add Vantage to your current account online use the 'Upgrade' link for the relevant account on 'Your accounts' page or on your account statement page.

This will take you to the 'Current accounts' page. Scroll down to the 'Add Vantage now' link.

You can also use the 'Added Value Accounts' link in the 'Day-to-day' section of 'Apply online', on the right-hand side of the screen.

    Did as it said.

    Back to 'Your Accounts'

I now have a Classic Vantage account instead of just a Classic account.

Next task - Transferred funds into new Classic Vantage account. Job done.

(By the way, clicking on the 'upgrade' link on the Statement tab's page only gave me the upgrade to Silver option. There was no 'add Vantage' option at the bottom of this upgrade page. So perhaps there is a 'conspiracy')

    Not in my case.

I opened a second Classic account via internet banking in the early hours and manage to upgrade it to Vantage two days later via internet banking.

No mention of Silver account whatsoever.

...come to that if Christmas Day were ever to fall on the 1st of the month which was a Friday the Boxing Day bank holiday would be carried over to the following Monday then the first banking day would be...

I don't know how Lloyds cope with all this variation. In Yorkshire Christmas Day always falls on the 25th. But I only know that 'cos it's the OH's birthday. ;)

It must be boring in Yorkshire if Christmas Day ALWAYS falls on the 25th.
