oooh, I had a flash back, used to play Double Bass (3/4 size) as a girl and the flipping bus drivers used to charge me 1 child fare and a bike/dog fare and I didn't even get to sit down but had to stand near the driver holding the blooming thing. Why did I not learn and make the kids learn something small, like a flute or a clarinet instead of a keyboard and a trombone  and guess who has to take them everywhere!

Hope you trips/slips and bumps (are we getting a new flybaby today?, so exciting :D) are all ok? Do be careful out there peeps. Hugs to all esp Turks.

Loved the poem JillD, very funny and also a buttkick.gifas Jinky would have it, so duly noted and off for HHC at 2.45 - 3.15 if anyone in?

  • Am back without snapping a neck (mine or the cello's!).

What I forgot is that, the deeper the string, the more expensive it is.... So I'm now £40 lighter making £70 unexpected expense in three days.... :o

Ah well! The other day I opened up an envelope in a drawer(when I was tidying it: hem!) and in it found the £75 we won at a village prize draw three years ago...I had tucked it away to think what to spend it on. Yesterday, I had visions of new pots and soil to grow my spuds and carrots in this year; and a few extra seeds; and maybe some shrubs.... But instead I guess I've got two brand new cello strings!

OTOH I found I have £50 in Nectar points to redeem off my shopping in Mr S, so that will help a bit.

Off to have a :coffee: to warm up, because I swept all the snow off my car and the steps (it's going to freeze hard tonight) on the way back in; then I'm going to clean DD's bedroom.

    MissH

    Afternoon all

    Ouch AnW's and Mudders!

Nuttyr - another strategy is, if watching commercial TV, see what you can get done in the commercial breaks! I find I can usually get the kitchen sorted in the breaks in a one hour TV programme

Oooh Ragz - take it easy!

an I just confirm with someone that the tax return that needs to be done is 2008-09. Sorry I know it is off topic but a simple yes / no would be great.

    Yep, it's april 6th 08 - april 5th 09

Well, we've had rain much of the day and it's above freezing so no slipping or sliding here just murky gloom and a bit of mist now. The winter wonderland has gone.

Off to fly in the bathroom..

Big cyber hugs to all those who have been out and fell down on the ice/snow - hope you're all OK. I've ventured out with DD and the dog; we had a few slips but nothing major. Haven't landed on my bum yet but only a matter of time!

Just doing my typing; am so behind with having DD home and knowing my luck DS won't be at pre-school tomorrow morning (fingers crossed the school is open).

After typing need to make dinner (curry), then declutter the littlies to bed and enjoy some ironing (not). The new NCIS is on tonight which I love, so at least drooling over the actor who plays DeNoso (don't know the spelling) will distract me ;)

Off to pick up children and trombone, catch you later peeps. Snow update, DH just rang to say snowing heavily/slow traffic on A1, not settling yet (plus he has put hand in something poo smelling? - too much info I say :D)
