Hiya - no flying here I'm afraid! I managed to slip on black ice this morning and landed on my knees. I thought the wet patch on my trousers was melted snow until a lovely elderly gentleman told me my shoe had gone red! Bless him, he took me to hospital where I've been stitched up and then bought me home. Three hours he waited with me. DH is on way back from Hull so he's going to buy a nice box of chocolates and some flowers for the gentleman and his wife!
Just read this page and not sure what happened but see AnW'smum's had a fall too - massive hugs.
Take care out there - it's lethal! xx0 -

I work FT as I'm sure a lot of you do. (ME!!! I Do to and I know its hard to find the time at first....) When I get in I always begin with the dinner. This usually involves a lot of stiring and stuff that needs keeping an eye on (this is the truth and not an excuse btw) Tuesdays I go to college after work so I don't get in until after 8pm so again as DH takes out DSS Tuesday's I fend for myself eating wise.
So come on, get me motivated and give me a kick up the wotsit and tell me how you guys all manage to be ar§3d
First things first, is you need to sort out tea time.....as it sucks up all your evening.
Spend this weekend batch cooking.... actually, do you have a freezer? If so, do loads of cooking and freeze everything in portions. That way, when you come home in the evening, you can quickly heat up some proper homecooked food rather than spending forever cooking. The BESTEST thing I ever bought for my kitchen was my slow cooker - pop out this weekend and treat yourself to one.
You can whack stuff in at 8am when you go out to work, and you come home at 6 and its ready and yummy!!! (you can also use cheaper cuts of meat!)
Therefore dinner will be ready, or require very little effort, freeing up some more of your very precious time xxxSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

My girls' schools are closed due to the snow... again, so I'm at home today. All I want to do is curl up and snooze, but the house is a TIP!!!!
The exciting news here is that we're going to have a extension. We're only just past the 'ok, we'll get an extension' stage. But I've got a very good/ lovely builder coming on Fri to give us some ideas and a ball park figure.

Yes - hugs to you all.... and wish me luck... because I'm just going out to buy a G string
.... carrying a full sized cello at the same time... :rotfl:
"But wait!" (I hear you cry). "Didn't you buy a string for the cello on Monday?"
hahahahahahaha (cackles manically) yes, but that was the A string, and she only went and bust the G string last night for good measure....:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
She tells me that the weather has dried out the pegs, and they are slipping all the time making it necessary to keep tweaking the damn things ... but at £30 a string, ladies...!!!!!
(and have you ever tried to totter down the road with a cello in black ice or - even worse - try to get one on a bus...)
Am off. I may be sometime...... Flying when I get back (that's to stop me getting into trouble...:D).

Massive hugs to all those having problems on the ice:eek:
Slipping and falling on ice has always been a real fear for me (best thing about retiring was I don't have to go out)
Anyway I can trip and fall for no reason - and have often :rotfl:0 -
Wednesday ~ Study and Bathroom/loo
Urrgghhh, cheers, Pigpen, I really love doing the bathroom..... not!
Level One
Declutter and mop/vacuum floors Done
Clean the bathroom fixtures and fitting.. while the pc defrags! Done
Level Two
Polish mirrors and taps and pictures and shower screens etc Done
Wipe over all the paintwork.. Done all I can get to without hurting myself
Declutter the desk and clean the keyboard etc.. icky germs.. and shake out those biscuit crumbs! Done
Level Three
Declutter 50 emails and have 15 minutes filing/organising spreadsheets/debtbusting!.. see if you can alter any of these payments to free up some cash! I don't have 50 emails stored, but decluttered what I have. Checked, and all regular payments are as low as we can get 'em. Luckily the accounts stuff is all on my pc; there's no way I'm doing Mr LW's:eek::D - Done.
Defluff behind the radiators.. and wipe the fronts so they look nice Done
Clean the downstairs curtain poles/tracks.. furniture polish is a foolproof way of making the curtains run smoothly again! Lambswool-dustered (duster-onna-stick); I'm not safe on a stepstool.
Extras ~ just 3 today as they are time consuming- Gather insurance documents/guarantees/important papers together in one accessible file Already are all in proper files.:p
- Change any dead lightbulbs and defluff any old ones.. if you can change some old ones for eco-bulbs.. save a few pence where we can Done
- Passports are being processed really quickly at the moment (stepdads took 3 days!) if yours needs renewing for a holiday this year get it done now to save that last minute panic! Thanks for this – Mr LW's passport does indeed need renewing, although we're not going abroad any time soon. Noted in my PDA to be done 26 Jan, when it has 9 months to go.
Sorry, the thread just moves too fast for me to read any but the last few posts, so Mudbath and anyone else who's come a cropper on the ice take it easy, and hope the injuries aren't too awful. (((gentle hug)))
Anyway, WEDNESDAY IS COMPLETE.:j
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
