    PRO-POINTS .... anyone else hungry???

    Day 1 of pro-points.

    I've eaten: cornflakes 60g (6), milk 146ml skimmed (1.5), 2 x ww bread nothing on (4), 1 GFY cupasoup (1), 1 apple, 2 satsumas, large veg stir fry, mushrooms, onions, noodles 100g (4.5), teryaki sauce (1) and 3 veggy sausages (9) = 27 pro-points (limit = 29). I've got 2 points left for a WW hot choc.

On points, the same would have equaled 14 points (limit was 19).

Hmmmm, not bonding with pro-points on that basis!! I don't think 14 points in old money is enough for one days food which includes milk, fruit and veg.

Prob too early to tell, and prob too hungry to be rational :-) Anyone else tried to do equivalents and what did you find?
  • Had our meeting last night and I have lost 2lbs this week. Since starting 4 weeks ago I've lost 7 1/2lbs which meant I got my first Silver Seven sticker :j (would much rather have had a Galaxy but there you go!)

Came away with the new pro-points info and have been trying to get to grips with it. I've eaten pretty much what I normally would have and have calculated I've used 24 points up to now. I won't see the evening out without something else so will have to see what I've got lurking in the fridge that won't take me over into using my weekly extra allowance. Usually I manage a day with a couple of points spare.

Good luck everyone with the new plan.

My dial appears to be wrong as the foods with higher fibre are more points than foods with less fibre

For example if I dial up a food with 10g protein, 26.5g carbs and 14g or fat, if it has 1 g of fibre it is 7 points but if it has 10g of fibre it is 8 points! Surely this is incorrect and the dial has been printed wrong??? I cant believe a higher fibre food would be worse (ie have higher points) than a lower fibre food!

Also in the free pocket guide booklet there is a section on eating out, I have come across what appears to be a huge whopping glaring error: In the new propoints pocket guide it states that a lamb rogon josh is 19 points and a lamb passanda 15 points. However in the big Eat Out guide, a lamb rogon josh is 29 points and a lamb pasanda 34 !!!!! This is a huge discrepancy and now I am doubting the accuracy of the rest of the information given.

there are sever errors on the packs... have you looked at the excersize points chart... the one in the middle has the same numbers all the way down - so is incorrect...

for a huge launch there are lots of mistakes...
  • I had my 3rd wi last night and lost 1lb, Thats 9.5lbs in 3 weeks!! Got the new pack so today is my 1st day of pro points, I couldnt figure out the wheel so i bought a calculator to be safe. Good luck anyone who's waiting to wi this week :D

Moning mopsy, good luck with the new plan, I lost 2lb last night :) not really followed either of the plans as I can't decide which to continue with, new or old???

    tricky to decide!
  • WI last night, lost 1lb. Now only 1lb to go to my 2 stone :) (in seventeen weeks).

However I'm not going to class any more as I will be going to Spain until next Spring and doing WW online. Hope to lose the pound by the time I travel on the 23rd.

Don't know what i think of the new plan yet, but like it that all fruit is free and that one of my main breakfasts of sardines on toast is only about 5 points. However, it is a bit of a swindle for those who have only just bought the other WW products. I may just keep to the old plan so that I can use my pedometer which has really helped me.

However, WW online has put me on the new one already!

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
  • Im not sure if I like this new plan! I have used all my 29 points and 7of my weekly allowance and I dont feel like I have eaten much more than I would have done on the old plan and managed to keep within my alloted points of 24.
I had a poached egg with ww bread for brekkie, home made butternut and sweet potato soup for lunch with ww bread and a chilli for tea with lean minced beef.Snacks have been sugarfree jelly with activia pouring yogurt and half a plain scone with a scrape of spread and ww jam.Milk was skimmed.
I also had an apple and a bananna.
Either Im going wrong somewhere or the new plan is leaving me with less room to eat.
  • I bit the bullet and re-joined last night after a year. My leader remembered my name, she is fab. Anyway we received all the new info, I also bought the new ProPoints Shop book, I've been looking through it and am disappointed because there are hardly any Tesco products listed at all (most of my shopping is from Tesco)

Has anyone else noticed this? There is a lot of Asda/Sainsburies food listed in it.

I have got 2 stone to lose.
A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

Just done my 3rd day on the new propoints - it's been going well. I've found the 29 points is plenty - but of course I can now have fruit for free, so have been taking advantage of that to fill up :D
I'm still puzzled about how we can lose weight even if we use up that big weekly allowance on top of our daily 29  The proof of it all will be at my next weigh in. Ive been losing an average of 1.5lbs a week since starting WW and hoping that continues. If I start putting weight on or STS, then I'll consider going back to the old system.
On the WW community boards, there are a few Leaders absolutely swearing by propoints and say they've lost weight even using all their daily points and using up all the weekly additional points! We'll see how it goes.
