Right, with this new propoints plan I am hoping I am back!!!
Hi, to all those that remember me or are still here from last year :hello:
Logged into WW this morning and its all propoints, so lots of learning to do and I'm hoping that focus's me like the first time I did discovery last year. I have (again) about 2 stone to lose. V angry with myself for putting it all back on (bar 1lb!!!)
So I put my Asda GFY ready meal into the new online calc and it came out as 43 points!! However, I checked the food list and its 11 points, phew. I also seem to be able to have a lot more pate on my bagel for 3 points than I could before!! Also loving the fact fruit and most veg is free - should encourage me more to eat it I think.
Puds xReally should be doing some work...0 -

Hello there! Please could someone confirm - I 'get' the ProPoints idea but am I right in thinking that you still have to count everything, except fruit and veg? Am considering joining WW as I was a member years ago but tbh the counting all the time drove me mad. I am trying to think less about food and the counting just makes me more preoccupied with what I eat.
I have had some success with Slimming World (sorry to mention it on this board! ) as I found a less counting kind of approach easier. Not knocking WW - it's just a question of getting what's right for me.
Thanks - Louise0 -
You still have to count. Only fruit and some veg is free.:)0

Just come back from my first meeting which explained the new points system. Whats annoying me is when you calculate from a packet of food, you can't just refer to the traffic lights counter on the front, you have to goto the actual ingrediants to get protein and carbs, and sometimes that is only "per 100g" so then you have to calculate it. I'm sure they made it more complictaed to make you buy a points calculator, although i haven't seen one of those yet so i'm sure i'm going to spend all my time stood calculating at the supermarket shelves. You're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0

Hi Hollowhead  Beat you, I've put 24 back on this year....ooops!!
So, I've done some more reading about propoints - my meeting is on Saturday (um haven't been for some weeks) and I'm looking forward to being focussed again.
Apparantly we should get all the new info, booklets and basic food lists, and a new cardboard 'wheel' type calculator.
My food today so far:
B: 2 x mini bagels (2) and pate (3 - for 50g of pate which is a lot!)
L: Asda GFY piri piri chicken (11) Shape Delight white choc - not sure on points for this as I just brought in the pot and it doesn't have values on it, these are incredibly delicious by the way, all the flavours! Used to be 2 points per pot...
I think I'll go to the gym tonight - pounce whilst the motivation is there!!Really should be doing some work...0 -
I am thinking of joining WW after a few years away after reading about the new system. Can someone who has looked at it tell me whether it's easy to work it out if you mostly cook your meals from scratch? The reason I left WW is because my local leader was only interested in ready meals and processed foods. She would bring in tons of packets each week, but if you asked her a question about calculating the points of a recipe she would look blank!0

I'm currently waiting to find out about the new plan - my meeting is on Saturday...I'm currently a gold member, so I'm interested to see what I'll be maintaining on.
I do want to lose a few more lbs before Christmas, but have to say it's a bit annoying that I'll have to buy another calculator to work things out - I don't really use the shopping and eating out guides, just use the nutritional values from the packaging.
I'll need to get hold of a new pedometer too - I want all those activity points to count!0
