suggest a few things, either getting a side plate if people won't say anything - or try to leave space between things on your plate - try the dry tikka meat - less fatty (yummy) sauce and ONLY one layer - don't pile up high, and fruit for pudding.

and Cherie - butternut squash can be boiled, baked, mashed, wedged, ummmm... prettymuch anything you might do with a spud you can do with squash, it's more like a sweet potato in taste though with a slighty wetter/squashier texture.... give it a go - it's a !!!!!! to peel though - but don't be out off (you can buy it ready chopped but not very MSE - hehehe) I'm REALLY not a fan of veggies - but ave BNS a go - and liked it - I was suprised, it's goes REALLY well for bulking out a meal as a root style veg or soup or a curry - especially a thai one, BNS, chicken, sauce rice.... FULL :)

Hello everyone. I joined weight watchers a week and a half ago and lost 4.5 pounds in my first week. Have gone a bit over this week but not catastrophically and I have been doing a bit of exercise (rare for me) to help redress the balance.

I've set myself a target of losing 1.5 stone my christmas. Should be do-able as it is less that 2 pounds a week on average. I'm finding the recipes in the weight watchers literature very handy. Made chicken balti this week, and had bacon and beef stew and vegetable biryani last week. Helps keep my grocery shopping under control too as I plan in advance what I'm going to eat for the week and then look on myspermarket website to find out where I can get what I need for the least money.

Onwards and downwards! Good luck to all fellow weight watchers.
Trying to take control of my home and belongings!

Well done Ditz.. keep up the good work :o)
  • I like Ditz's idea of setting a target

I'll do that too - I want to lose 1 stone by Christmas.

I cooked butternut squash to have with my dinner instead of potatoes - it was really yummy.

    :)

  • Hi All

I joined WW tonight for the first time and looking forward to loosing some of the lb's i put on whilst having my first baby (plus a few more lb's on top)

I had already agreed to meet a friend tomorrow for lunch at Costa Coffee - can i have some suggestions on what the point values for a Skinny Latte and also is there any such thing as a low point cake?
    Sealed Pot Challenge #601
  • Hi

the talk at my WW class tonight was about the new plan. the leader said we will get 29 points a day (no matter what your weight), none of which can be carried over to the next day, and 49 'spare' points to use as extras through the week. Most Fruit and veg will be free (to encourage us to eat more), with the exceptions of potatoes etc. Points values will be calulated differently so everything will cost a bit more in points than it does now. She didnt give us all the detail - just these snippets.

Our 'helpers' were all given the new packs to have a try so when it comes in for everyone else, they can give advice!
