Does anyone know that link that gets ebay to show you everything being sold in your postcode area? Want to see if there are any local bargains I can pick up.
I have made £60 in the last two days selling my old junk :-)0 -
I started the year off with good intentions on how I was going to make the money and then came the best news - my house has sold (subject to contract). So once this goes through I'll be free, I won't make any profit but that doesn't bother me as I'll save money by renting somewhere cheaper.
I have sold a mobile phone for £20 so far so it's been a slow start due to me spending all my time focusing on my property.
I am still looking for a part-time job and once the contract to the house is signed I'll be able to sell loads of stuff as I'll be seriously downgrading as I'm going to live in a shared property.
I've also decided I'm going to travel at the end of this year so it's important I stick to this challenge.
So far - £20 made! Yay!My new year's comping resolution is to spend more time entering the 'Effort competitions' properly!
Thank you everyone who posts comps and participates in the Forums :T0 -
I managed to sell a few bits on ebay, mainly clothes and now have another £25 to add to the pot.
I'm very impressed by how everyone is doing. Keep up the good work :jMortgage Free in 3-T2 : Started at £151,000 Nov. 2009 Mortgage Free Oct 1st 2015

Been ill for the last few days so not been up to much. Feeling better now so hope to get back into the swing of things.
Just checked my ebay listings and have had 12 sales totalling £102 :j with 10 of them paid for . Strangely I've had one person bidding on a few things and then retracting their bids at the last minute saying they had entered the wrong amount. The amount the bid was the minimum bid and is the price they normally sell for so will have to relist them again. The same person has also bid on a higher value item but not paid for it yet. It was won 2 days ago. Not sure what I should do
Be back later when I've caught up on the rest of the thread.:p
I think you better block the user, can't remember how but it is in ebay help0 -

To those who have used this, i saw something end for £1.04, i didnt bid but then i though, is it really embarassing (SP!) paying someone 99p or whatever for an item?
Just cant imagine handing over £1 :rolleyes:0 -

Well done for making the brave decision to get shot of those comics and 'washing that man right out of your hair'. With a good description, you may get a lot more money than you expect. The images on your website are fantastic!
You might not have profited out of the bad relationship, but you are using the experience to improve you life and get ahead.
Good luck with the fresh start!
Thank you, I'd never actually thought of marketing them towards valentines, will have to try that. Thank you both for the lovely comments, I'm going to try to finish my website this weekend and stop being scared of putting it all out there.
A phone I listed yesterday sold overnight for £2 more than I bought it for. I didn't actually buy it for this challenge though, I bought it for the Tesco points, so that's me £2 up and £40 of Tesco deals up too! Fantastic considering I was expecting to make a small loss on the sale price but it was worth it for the points.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

books that get offers on fatbrains and that go quickly on Amazon are specialist, I have found. Example, OH is into his boats so used to pick them up off of EBay for him. He can now reciet them to be backwards (he has a near photographic memory!) so put them into fatbrains and they would give me £6.61 for 5. Listed them on Amazon, 1 of them (how to run a small boat for angling), none listed second hand and Amazon had sold out, thought I would try my luck, list price £19.99, I listed mine for £17.75
(inc p+p) sold it within 2 hours! His are soooooo much better than mine, all mine are penny novels!
He might laugh at me and think I will never do it, BUT thanks to his extensive collection of boating books, I am getting a little bit closer everyday!
Also, couldn't believe my luck! Was wondering how I was going to do car boots with no car, OH came home last night in a van, a mate of his sold it to him for £250! Even has shelves inside, perfect for the plants at the boot sale!!! Just got to get the smell of rotten squid out of it now!
So £47.82 from Amazon thanks to OH's hobby, a van, we are on a roll! (might have forgotten to mention to OH that I am selling his crap tho, but sure he wont mind, it is all for a good cause after al!)turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -
question: for those of you that have more than 1 EBay account, do you need to register more than 1 bank account and debitcard for EBay and Paypal? Thinking it might be a good idea to separate, but wondering if I will need to open up a new bank account?
