  • Out of about 50 books I want to get rid of, fatbrain have made offers on the grand total of.....none! I will have to list them on ebay I guess and hope for the best, the only issue is I doubt anyone would want to buy them is the majority are realtively old hat now!

While I think about it, I have loads of videos that I want rid of, is there a website like fat brain or music magpie which will take videos off me?

  • Maybe he prefers you being a 'non-achiever' Dilli - makes him feel better about himself somehow. 'NO to negativity' should be your motto - you go for it!

Funny thing is, my ex was always on at me to get a job and wasn't very supportive of my anxiety issues that were stopping me. When I told him about my plans here, though, he was really interested and encouraging of all my ideas.

Overall I am really happy with my progress, I have achieved more than I could ever have thought possible in the space of 3 weeks!

But, am I the only one who has an unsupportive OH. I just find that I am although being positive - but I am a realist. I don't believe in magical thinking and I know that my PMA has to be backed up with action.
But, the other half seems intent on peeing on my parade. Shooting down, any ideas that I have. I know that I can do well - but, sometimes it is really hard deflecting the negativity.
Just glad that I have support on this thread :) It really is helping.

Try looking if any of them are listed on Amazon. As long as they are originals, some go for a few quid. I have sold a few for as much as a tenner (often this was more than I paid for them a few years ago when buying them from shops). Beware though that many are worth just pennies at most. However, its worth checking.

thats the link for the ebay local bargains...

To those who have used this, i saw something end for £1.04, i didnt bid but then i though, is it really embarassing (SP!) paying someone 99p or whatever for an item?

Just cant imagine handing over £1

Well, I am about to pick up some local bargains now, that I just paid £0.99p each for.

I paid one of them by Paypal, without thinking, and got a rather snotty e-mail advising me that as I had got the item for such a ridiculously low price, could I not have just handed him over the £0.99p without Paypal having to take there cut too.

I sent an e-mail back saying, "Sorry you feel this way, as a gesture of goodwill, and so you are not out of pocket, I will pay you another £1.00, when I collect the item".

The guy couldn't have been nicer and e-mailed saying, "Thanks so much, I work just round the corner from you, pick the item up from my work and it will save you petrol."

There's nowt so queer as folk. It's a minefield out there!!!

I tend to get people dropping the items off with me if it's local, got one coming tonight and one next week, although I did offer the second one something for the petrol and she took it (told her to put it into the 'postage' and I'd pay with Paypal) - she was probably glad to get it though, it was one of those auctions where nobody finds it as there are hardly any details in the title! Bargain :)

What amazes me is how many people can't be bothered to post something, even when it's not that big an item. I ended up posting one of those Fisher Price spinny zebra things to someone - they're massive - when I'd said pickup only, but I got more bids than I would otherwise have had so it was worth it.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

question: for those of you that have more than 1 EBay account, do you need to register more than 1 bank account and debitcard for EBay and Paypal? Thinking it might be a good idea to separate, but wondering if I will need to open up a new bank account?

    Cheers

no you should be able to use the same bank account if you want. When you register you can auth your account with a phone call..... ebay call you with a registration code and bobs your uncle!!
