Been ill for the last few days so not been up to much. Feeling better now so hope to get back into the swing of things.
Just checked my ebay listings and have had 12 sales totalling £102 :j with 10 of them paid for . Strangely I've had one person bidding on a few things and then retracting their bids at the last minute saying they had entered the wrong amount. The amount the bid was the minimum bid and is the price they normally sell for so will have to relist them again. The same person has also bid on a higher value item but not paid for it yet. It was won 2 days ago. Not sure what I should do:confused:
Be back later when I've caught up on the rest of the thread.:p

Early morning ebay sale, so added £12 to total - how excited can someone be by £12.00? Hope everyone has a good day selling.

  • Overall I am really happy with my progress, I have achieved more than I could ever have thought possible in the space of 3 weeks!

But, am I the only one who has an unsupportive OH. I just find that I am although being positive - but I am a realist. I don't believe in magical thinking and I know that my PMA has to be backed up with action.
But, the other half seems intent on peeing on my parade. Shooting down, any ideas that I have. I know that I can do well - but, sometimes it is really hard deflecting the negativity.
Just glad that I have support on this thread :) It really is helping.

but still no kind words from OH.

I wish he would say nothing rather than put my ideas down or at least put them down in a constructive manner if he has any opinions about them but no!

    anyway enough of a moan

  • All this despressive fella talk is making me kinda happy I don't (really, properly) have one. The only man in my life is 3 and thinks almost everything I do is amazing :) He does seem to think that if you say please the 'Bank Man' will give you more money though, if only :rotfl:

yep, know that feeling... have a rant and a moan on here, we are all supportive! Get rid of the negative feelings, or just don't tell him. I find it easier to not say anything to my OH, hes not negative, or positive either but very non commital which I find find even more annoying!

Hi all, 8 items went up on Ebay today. I made a decision that probably isn't the most financially sensible, but I feel lightened having made it. I have an extensive comic collection worth in excess of £3k, my ex used to collect comics, and also he'd buy bulk lots of them, split them down and resell on Ebay. There is a real market out there for both the traditional spiderman stuff but also the modern y the last man, spawn, 100 bullets stuff. He didn't work, just would sell comics whenever he was running low! I have a couple of hundred of these I can't bear to look at as he was a very violent man and I have nothing but bad memories of that time in my life. I have been keeping them as a long term investment, but today I made the decision to just get shot of them.

So I've stuck them up in a few big lots on ebay, have about another 4 lots to stick up tomorrow (inclding one of only first editions I should get a few £100 for at least), and while I know its mad to sell £1000 of comics for £20, the piece of mind its giving me to be rid of the last trace of him is worth it to me. Plus it'll be £20 in the pot! Only been up 2 hours and already got a few watchers which is good.

On the creative thing, I do custom paintings, and also prints of my paintings on etsy, which sell okay. Etsy is very competative, so you do need to put time into it to get your stuff noticed. I have also just opened a photograph store on there but there are so, so many photographers on there the market is saturated so I only really sell these at craft fairs. Io have my own website (in profile) but its not even finished, which is something I really should get around to doing!

The images on your website are fantastic!

You might not have profited out of the bad relationship, but you are using the experience to improve you life and get ahead.

Good luck with the fresh start!

welldone on the lego......my m.i.l. still has my hubby's lego.. so its well over 40 years old... my kids played with it too....

wonder if she will let me sell it, there is loads of it, and add on bits too

should be worth a bit of its early lego.....

I have a couple of bits that I am struggling to sell on ebay (don't know why, I;m sure they are worth something somewhere!) so I am going to try this site.....
