  • Very interesting thread. I'm tempted to start myself. I've just sold a few bits on ebay and made a small but welcome profit. It really does seem a useful method to get rid of unwanted stuff

Yay - got my refund from the courier company! £13.18... huzzah
Just checked my account online, really proud of myself - I am still overdrawn but I have managed to cut my expenditure to the bone. I didn't realise that I could get so much pleasure from not spending money.
Doing my usual to do list - it is a massive benefit as I am the world's greatest procrastinator. I did followed a plan called self discipline in 10 days, and it made a world of difference to me.
Also, on my internet travels I found a great website called litemind. It is fantastic for lifestyle tips and on top of that. They have the greatest book summaries ever in the form of mind maps so you can read some great business/self help books for free essentially.

Ooh, thanks, that website looks really good. I'm a big "to do list" maker as well - I find if I don't write it down, I don't end up doing it!

Argh, suffered severe backlash due to the fact I moaned that I might not get my PT shift after maternity (from F+F) yeah cos its my fault that I was niave enough to beleive what 3 managers told me. Grrrrrrrrrr!!!

Anyway, just means that I'll need to be more organised about this challenge, hopefully make some cash to tide us over until I can find a new job. How hard can it be to find a job at evenings and weekends?? (not too easy when Boots have decided to lay people off too)

Got a MS job later so yay! £5 but its better than a slap in the face. Will be on the lookout for money in the street **wishes to find £20/£50/£100 note**

Off to figure out whats gonna make me a millionaire (and for retail therapy - I have Xmas vouchers so not technically real cash :j)

was it a charity shop find?
  • Sold 2 ebay items and the people aren't responding to communications and haven't as yet paid. I have to wait till the 24th before I can open a case. Am I better off just re-listing them? Or will that forfeight my right to a final value vee credit?

all you can do is wait I;m afraid. Its frustrating but if you pressure your buyers then you run the risk of neg feedback and bad dsr's which will not help you at all..

When did the auction end? You have to leave around a week for them to pay, although you can open a NPD after four days.

I would send a quick polite email reminding the buyers that they won the item and that payment is due. If no joy then open a NPD, if they still don't pay, they get a NP strike and you get your FVF refunded.

Best bet is to have a look at the rules and reg re ebay and get to know them really well. If you play by the rules then it makes it easier for you to sell.....
