Hey everyone.
I used to make lovely kitsch cushions and never thought about selling them! I'm just wondering if anyone knows a cheap place to get a sewing machine from?

You know you are addicted to this thread when:
You scorn at your OH the other night for trying to watch the Football online,
Your subscription to the thread hasn't come into your in-box at exactly the time you were expecting it so you refresh a dozen times and
finally you can't wait for the kids to get to bed so you can dive back onto the PC........
Well a quick update because I am at work at the moment ...... ( probably another sign of addiction)
4 things on ebay...... plan to add some more in next 24hrs.....
woking with OH to get his p/t amateur photography off the ground, we did two weddings last year but just for friends to keep costs down but wondering if some money could be made from this .... any ideas feel free to let me know.
I have had so many laughs reading this thread thnak you better than any soap ( which is good because I haven't watched telly since I found this )
keep up good work :T you are all doing a superb job
KezKez12 intends to have a frugal 2012 and bust that debt:j there's certainly plenty of it!0 -

I think one of the members here posted that they had 100 canvas bags in their loft, from a failed business venture .......
There's another member with 100 googlies ....... On that note, I was just looking at the magazine on my son's desk and it said '3D googlies' inside. I shouted out, 'blimey googlies come in 3D now.' Only for a bemused DS to point out that it was 3D goggles..
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -

Oh that did make me larf :rotfl:
I'm on pause today, waiting for Ebay stuff to sell - some of it has bids - and waiting for my MIL to pick the girls up to have for the weekend... my dad's having the boy... so I should get lots done! Shifting all the Lego off the dining table up to the boy's soon-to-be-not-shared room so's I can pile all my selling stuff onto it lol!
One thing I've found really good is those Biobulbs that give a full-spectrum light, I got it for crafting (and they're meant to be good for S.A.D) but if you're taking photos of anything they're fab for getting a good picture! I hung some stuff up on my mannequin and I'm dead chuffed with how they lookthey do cost about a tenner though, but they'd last for AGES.
Sold a comic on Amazon and won £3.44 on BB but lost it on roulette, might just get the bingo tickets from now on!I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.0 -
Well, sold 12 things on Ebay this week - unfortunately the last thing that sold cost me £1.50 and only made 99p! I think I may just break even with the postage I charged- shhhh! You didn't hear me say that! Trouble is Paypal takes a percentage of your P&P as well!
I think I may have made about £23 profit this week in total!
Been snooping around the charity shops and saw a pair of Dior mules - very tempted, but what if they're fakes - they were £4.50, but when I buy stuff thats more than £1 or £2 I struggle to get the money back most times! Don't know whether to take a chance - they are grey fabric - and are a teeny bit grubby on the (very pointed) toes - but no marks on the soles or heels. What do you all think?
Also saw a big green crate of Lego - £10 - again s'pose I should have taken the chance- that'll def be gone by tomorrow - it was in the window!
Trouble is the house is beginning to look like a charity shop- I'm not clearing stuff out (well, only a bit) - I'm shipping more in!:rotfl:0 -
As a t mobile employee, i can safely say thre is nothing you can do. However if he does report his phone stolen we check the phone his sim was last in, and blacklist that. We dont just blacklist the phone that was sent out on contract as 9 times out of 10 this isnt the phone they are using.
ETA - you shouldnt have been told the phone was registered to him, just that it was registered, but even that is dodgy ground.£160 up after selling the Blackberry that came with my phone contract.
Bought a Nokia 6700 off a friend of a friend today for £120 brand new, I think I'll be able to sell it for £140 on eBay and make a neat £20 profit.
I called T Mobile today to ensure it wasn't stolen, they checked the IMEI number and the phone is definitely registed to his name, so it's a contract phone like my Blackberry was. However, I was wondering... what if he reports it as stolen in a month or something, the phone could become useless for the person I sell it to and I'd get the blame. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? I have his address, can I get him to take his 'registered' name off the phone somehow, so I have insurance he wont report the phone he sold to me as stolen?:o10k in 2010 - £350.77 :beer:0
